Port Forwarding deals with your router.

Go to where ever your Router Settings are (linksys is 168.92.1.1 for example), go to Port Forward and put in your Wii's info.

and do what Repto says, they probably have easier instructions on gfaqs. Mine were just a very broad way of telling you how to do it...it's probably not even helpful...haha.

But yeah, use Port Forwarding to get better speeds (hell, you can do it with torrents for faster dling)

I went on wifi a little bit and did free battle, fought some PTX who had as much an idea of what he was doing as I did, then fought some guy with a terrible record that must've just lost to someone better than he numerous times, because he basically destroyed me every time (though I did KO some of his characters and deplete their health almost to empty numerous times.) So he got some free boosts to his record from me.

I thought this guy was staying in for the free wins, but after I no longer wanted to rematch, he opted to be rivals, sooo.. whatever.

tl;dr: went online, I still played like shit.

Dunno if what I did helped, but these matches weren't laggy.

I played 3 matches. First 2 were random lag everywhere, it was really bad that I couldn't even block. 3rd match against a random guy who had a 44.4% win ratio or some crap, and it was lagless. I was like, yes! Then i start raping the guy with Volnutt -_-; by mashing buttons nonetheless, almost killed off his first character before the connection was "lost"

learn how to port forward your wii and do it already lol

Not only will it cut way back on the lag, but I'm not fighting you until you do. Our Brawl matches were very very laggy and these will be as well if you don't do something about it. I port forwarded mine and my matches had no lag whatsoever.

Also, I mean it when I say you shouldn't have shit like bittorrent running while gaming online. It devours your bandwidth. You want as little using the internet as possible. No torrents, netflix, none of that stuff. I'm guessing you didn't disconnect and close bittorrent before playing online.

I don't have a wired connection for my wii because my electronics setup makes that impossible, but if you can connect your Wii via LAN adapter, that helps even more.

Lastly, it helps to just have a good connection. Find a website that tests your ping and see that the number is low (below 30 within your own state is acceptable; the lower the better. Anything over that is generally unacceptable if you plan on gaming with anyone outside that area, as the ping will skyrocket.)

Edit: The above kinda looks pretentious on top of snarky, and I don't mean to come off that way. It's just that in the past you've shown an... unwillingness to look things up or do things that weren't totally necessary, so I thought I had to stress the importance.

FIGHTAN GAEMS are no fun when button delay has anything to do about it! Neither you or I needs that shit while we're trying to better ourselves!

If you can find out what Ports I need to Port forward, I'll be glad to do it. I already opened a DMZ Host for my Wii, and that reduced the lag quite a bit. Then again my brother is always streaming shit while I try gaming. Always... and he never listens when I tell him to stop. He just looks at me and streams more shit to piss me off.

Actually, if you already did the DMZ host then you don't need to port forward, the effects are actually redundant from what I'm told.

As for the streaming, just... uh... try to disconnect without him knowing or do your gaming when he won't be there to reconnect or something =P

But I sort of feel your pain. Another buddy I brawled with regularly had family that was always either using netflix or using XBL on another TV. So our matches usually lagged like hell.

For lulz, I'll post the ports anyway- 28910, 29900, 29901, 29920, 80, 443

Well, I played a match with NYX, at first it seems like it was lagless, but then after the match actually started; so did the lag. Then again, NYX did say that his router is kinda shitty. So it might/might not be a problem on my part. Not too sure.

Getting a little better practicing my Tekkaman combos... The guy pushes his opponents so damn far away that it's nigh impossible to get in more than 2-3 hits before needing to launch or use a special. No LcLMcMH for this mofo.

At least his twirl specials can be buffered sort of easily.

Then there's his partner, Saki, who I also need a lot of work on, but I've gotten her execution down pat.

I fucking hate Tekkaman. Especially when I'm fighting him. His stupid spear pushes me so far back that I always have to air dash towards him. Simply because if I dash i get shanked with the stupid spear. It's bullshit. I'm using Zero and Ryu/Volnutt btw. Zero is simply amazing at building up the Special Bar, and Ryu is the perfect character to spam Specials with. Especially his Super Hadoken; so spammable.
