Rundown of the notable movepool additions Mk II

I added Dragon Rush for Lugia because it's the only physical Dragon move it has, and as weak offensively as Lugia is Dragon Rush corresponds to a very common uber weakness that hits the defense that's often lower. Power Gem hasn't got much of a purpose either, but hey, it's an upgrade to Ancientpower, so why not?

Now, I wasn't so kind to all those Power Swaps, Guard Swaps and Mud Bombs. Those are the kind of crappy moves I said I'd block. I did keep Power Trick for Machamp and Forretress, though, there could be some novelty sets based on that. Especially Forry, which could end up with a very interesting Gyro Ball... for use on Trick Room teams mostly, but it's there.

I can see myself using an unexpected Lugia with Dragon Rush. Lol.

Grass? Which is pretty common in UU? Dark types?

I'd have entertained the idea of Power Gem being used on Palkia if it turned out that Lustrous Water Move couldn't overtake Ho-oh's ridiculous SDef, because CB Brave Bird is enough to OHKO the standard Palkia.

But with recoil in mind, and huge damage from the water move, I don't think the tradeoff is worth it.

Still, Brave Bird is horrible to switch into and that alone will make the defensive ubers much more popular, as switching into it just got drastically less safe. Hell, it doesn't even need to rely on Punishment as much, now. Groudon and Forry will be more popular too, as Ho-oh's wingmen (pun intended.)

I really don't see Megahorn doing much for Absol. Dark types were already covered by Superpower and Grass types never switch into Absol. Despite the stat drops, Superpower is the superior choice due to its massive type coverage, alone worthy of a spot, its perfect accuracy, unlike Megahorn, which is especially important for something as frail as Absol, and the fact that it hits bulky fighters like Hitmontop and Hariyama for neutral.

Which reminds me, I skipped the Nidos because Smogon and Serebii don't match up at all there. More details as they come in.

Also, we may have been hasty with the tutors... they're not actually confirmed. It's said nearly all the Platinum tutors come back though, leaving only a few new ones. Ironically, they have the learnbases, but not the moves themselves. How that's possible, I have no clue.

to quote Maverick hunter: "the problem is: we found hexadecimal numbers on ROM that say us which pokémon learn the moves. they are identified as "move tutor 1", "move tutor 2", etc... we just took off the move tutors that we already know from Platinum and post the ones we don't know. now, we have to found it in game. just like we already find headbutt."

Psycho Cut isn't all that much stronger than Superpower, so until a good portion of the opponent's team is revealed, using Superpower is the more reliable option.

Move Tutors are in!

Super Fang, Pain Split, String Shot, Tailwind, Gravity, Worry Seed, Role Play, Magic Coat, Heal Bell, Low Kick, Sky Attack, Block, Bug Bite, and Headbutt.

For Slowflake's convenience: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61025

The other 38 move tutors return from Platinum.

Well, Scizor has 135 BP Bug Bite now, Stallrein obnoxiously has Super Fang, Low Kick looks promising on a few things, and Gravity is a very neat little move in general with a no longer tiny learnbase.

Scizor using Bug Bite would be like an inferior Heracross, but it is slightly more than a 10% increase in damage for the SD set. IMO Scizor should stick to CB U-Turn with the threat of Bullet Punch.

Also, is that the entire list, disproving the priority moves? A couple of those look interesting.

Yes, it disproves the priority moves. Honestly those looked very shady from the beginning.

U-Turn is better on Scizor, definitely, but Scizor has the benefit of being an excellent poke to use ingame, and Scyther also reaps the benefits of STAB + Technician. It'll make great use of it until I one gets a Metal Coat.

Now THIS is one of those cases I'd object to Slowflake not listing it as one of Scizor's spoils.

Of course, Technician users have a free pass. Duh. With that it outdoes X-Scissor completely.

Drat, no Heal Bell for Cresselia? Uxie's looking pretty good for a replacement right now... gotta love how Mesprit and Azelf don't get it either. Bug Bite Heatran cracks me up, too.

Almost off of work, just waiting for one of the machines to finish its job.

Edit: Remember that unlike Smogon, I'm not adding move tutors they could already learn. Also, I'm not adding Tailwind for anything that gets Agility (such as Beedrill), because, well, trying to pseudopass Tailwind to something means it'll only last one turn for the target, which is entirely worthless.

Edit 2: Gravity's on some weird Pokémon. Bronzong and Giratina? Well, I suppose it's not as detrimental to Heatproof Bronzong and Giratina-A, so I'll add it... but their Levitating counterparts are NOT going to be running that, thank you very much.

That's not what Serebii says, anyway. Besides, NidoranF's other egg moves are egg moves that are male-only, so maybe something went wrong during the extraction for the one who did it for Smogon.

It's what Smogon says, and what it has said from the beginning, which I will always trust over Serebii.

Serebii also says Nido M gets Sucker Punch as an egg move, again, which Smogon says belongs to Nido F.
