Does anyone still play Pokemon around here? Whatever, please RMT if you're reading this because I'm in for another battle with my cousin.
EDIT: I changed it up a bit. I might consider changing the moveset of my Bronzong around and keep Mamoswine while taking out Heatran, but I think this is the better option.
My lead here. Standard lead to set up SR. I don't want my opponent guessing what kind of team I'm going to use. Hopefully, I'll set up SR/Trick Room and get out of there with Heatran or Slowbro depending on the situation.
Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Own Tempo
EV’s: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpDef
Nature: Relaxed (+Def, -Spd)
-Trick Room
-Slack Off
-Surf
-Ice Beam
Scizor really screwed up the metagame imo. It ruined my previous standards and expectations of a TR team. Most TR pokemon are Psychic. Thanks to Scizor, it threatens like almost every TR pokemon I can use, so I'm really limited. Anyway, Slowbro is here for my coverage with Bronzong, Machamp and Rhyperior. I can easily switch in case a Scizor switches in.
Machamp @ Life Orb
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Def
Nature: Brave (+Atk, -Spd)
-Bulk Up
-Dynamic Punch
-Stone Edge
-Ice Punch
Machamp is a good partner for Dusknoir plus it works well with Trick Room in play. Dynamic Punch and Trick Room put my opponent in a difficult situation.
A star player of my TR team next to my Rhyperior. Snadow Sneak is there to get a possible revenge kill. Thunder Punch is there for Gyarados to stop it from Taunting. Dusknoir is a pretty good guy and doesn't afraid of anything.
Rhyperior @ Life Orb
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Def
Nature: Brave (+Atk, -Spd)
-Sword Dance
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Fire Punch
Another star player. I send this in on something that can't defeat it (hopefully with TR up). Then I SD and hope my opponent switches. Then I proceed to sweep. By the end of TR, I hope I can finish off the opponent's counter to my Rhyperior by then.
Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Nature: Naïve (+Spd, -SpD)
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-Explosion
-Dragon Pulse
Every Trick Room team needs a fast pokemon to offset the period where Trick Room isn't in play. Heatran is here as an additional counter to Scizor along wth my Rhyperior. Heatran for when Trick Room is off and Rhyperior for when it is on.
Yeah that's my team. I put it together pretty quickly. My battle is on Saturday. So any help is appreciated.
As a rule of thumb for Trick Rooming, base 80 speed is a really, really shitty speed to nerf.
Look at the speed tier and take special note of how many things have a slower minimum speed without needing an IV of 0, bad nature, and no EVs. Not only do they get to take advantage of your TR, you maintain that bad disadvantage when it wears off and you still fail to outspeed things, including another large assortment of pokes you ordinarily would have easily outsped.
Base 70 is the absolute maximum for a nerfed speed, and that's only because of Metagross.
I haven't really used a Trick Room team before so I can't really say how such and such will work.
The sad part is, yes, Scizor does rape. It's sad that priority moves still go first in Trick Room.
You can play mind games with Bronzong if you make it Heatproof. I don't know anybody who will use a Ground move on a Bronzong without being afraid of wasting a turn. Heatproof might save a win. Just a suggestion.
Other than that, not much to say since i don't have TR experience.
