Introducing Ho-oh with Brave Bird and Rayquaza with Air Slash!
Groudon gets Hammer Arm which is okay I guess. Power Gem Dialga/Palkia and Muddy Water Kyogre do nothing to impress. Dragon Rush Lugia is laughable.
But still. Ignoring the fact that IIRC flying attacks dont have much if any use in ubers whatsoever, Brave Bird is an extremely welcome addition on Ho-oh since its best attack has shit coverage in ubers.
Have fun eating those Brave Birds, dragons! They only do, what, 72% without a beneficial hold item? Mmm. 108% with Choice Band? Bummer.
Edit: Weather Ball on both Ho-oh and Lugia is interesting for Ho-oh, as with Groudon it does make for a very good fire attack, should you want to run a special set. 100 BP, plus STAB and sunlight applied (if I'm not getting my formula wrong?) Ouch.
You beat me to the punch, and I completely agree with what you said. Just one thing though... what is the point of having Hippopotas learn Dig naturally? Why even bother? I can sort of understand delaying Cyndaquil's Smokescreen, but that Dig thing just comes out of the blue.
But Weather Ball's use... hmm. I'm curious as to how this will play out.
I'm also glad Lugia and Ho-Oh don't get their signature moves in the 80s anymore, for what that's worth.
Holy shit. Serebii's site barely even gave me anything. You want real movepool additions? Feast your eyes on this, Slowflake, and get ready to edit that topic of yours.
Weather Ball Cherrim (I do really like Cherrim and Groudon pairings, they're fun to use together and murder things.)
That's all egg moves right there, and we still have no word of move tutors.
Head Smash Rock Head Aggron, baby! Base 110 attack compared to Relicanth's paltry 90! And Water Spout Octillery?
UU Trick Room teams are going to be fucking awesome.
Edit: According to that smogon thread there are reportedly 52 move tutorable attacks. Assume outright that four of those go to Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, and Draco Meteor.
What's awesome is that what they gave the good moves to, for the most part, is the underused (and I mean that in the literal sense, not the tiering) Pokémon. Quagsire vs. Gastrodon got a little more interesting... better stats or Water Absorb? And as a huge Cradily fan I am absolutely THRILLED at this development.
For the tutors... I'm pretty sure we'll see a lot of those from HGSS return. Headbutt is already confirmed, for a start. Curse, though, I'm not sure about, since so many Pokémon got it via egg move.
Edit: Wow, have you seen those tutors? Priority up the ass! The metagame is officially screwed. Let me spell it out for you:
Btw, the rom doesn't work on a flashcart (not even patched ones) Best thing you can do is play on no$gba, but you have to patch that as well. Anywho, have you guys seen the sprites yet? Steelix looks badass.
The inaddition of new sprites for 4th gen evos tells me evolutions are likely to be cockblocked by HGSS BUT:
since trading is completely uninhibited, if that is the case, I'll just trade them to friends and make evolving them as easy as possible (such as trading them with only double-digit exp needed to level up.)
I was about to entertain the idea that Power Trick was a tutorable move, but then I realised that Gligar and Pineco inherit it from Shuckle, and Machop gets it from Medicham. I don't really care to look for compatible egg groups for most things but I have the feeling they'll all match up with what we already know.
I'm lazy, so I'll just copy what I said on the TSG forums' HGSS thread:
Wow, I'm impressed. Two different Ecruteak remixes, one for Ecruteak and one for Cianwood! Awesome, especially since they have such different feels. The Kanto music's awesome as well... remember in GSC when the song would only go halfway, then loop? We don't have to put up with it anymore! This definitely makes up for the FRLG soundtrack's failure.
I'd like to see Lance's team. Remember how he explicitly called out his Dragonite in GSC? Could we see a level 34 Dragonite or something?
BTW, listening to Vermilion right now... oops. Call it the Vermilion Lullaby! Worst song in the soundtrack by far so far, and all that's left is the Kanto cities. Hope they're not as bad...
Edit: I'm done with the soundtrack, except for the Kanto routes which I can't find. Pallet and Lavender weren't too hot either, but Cinnabar's theme fits the devastation well. Route 27 is pure epicness, just as I've been dreaming for the last decade, but I expected more of a country feel for route 38. My first star? GOLDENROD GOLDENROD GOLDENROD. Put it on your alarm clock, nothing can ever go wrong if you wake up to that every morning.

BELLY DRUM + AQUA JET AZUMARILL[/QUOTE]
As scary as that sounds it just going to make weezing that much more popular for its phazing abilities, and if worst comes to worst you sacrifice your wall to save your team by placing a focus sash on it. Not the end of the world, although it does suck a little.
