I'll be online for the next hour or so, so if anyone wants to battle, just respond to this. :)
My terms: lv. 100 single, no ubers, hacks allowed as long they're reasonable (no all 31 IVs, EV limit recognized, moveset is within the movepool, etc. you get the picture)

If you're around at all, Coontank, I'll battle you. I'm going to be driving out to Toys 'R Us at some point to check out the Brick and Mortar event but I'll be near Wifi if you want to battle.

I'm also game for battles as often as you want.

Damn, I don't think I've ever lost THAT bad. But it was fun nonetheless! That's a great team you have. Especially the subseed Abomasnow. We should battle again sometime.

Thanks. You get a lot of respect for using a handful of UU pokemon pretty effectively.

And fighting a CM Slowbro reminded me why I need to finish my Stallrein for that team. And finish PP Ups on Abomasnow's Substitute lol.

I'd like to see what you do with OU pokemon.

P.S. It's been a while, and I feel like a moron for using Mirror Coat on Skuntank.

Well I don't know about "effectively" haha, as I wasn't able to take down even one member of your team. But I'm still a beginner and am getting used to competative battling, so some losses are expected I guess.

Stallrein would be terrifying on that team. And yeah to those PP Ups. I was hoping to stall your Abomasnow with Slowbro until Substitute's PP ran out, but that Knock Off from Tentacruel really hurt it.

Maybe I'll try my hand at OU sometime, but all my favorites are in UU, so I just stick to that. I'm actually working on a mono-type Poison team for UU that I hope to have some fun with.

And it's okay about Mirror Coat. We all make mistakes. Like how I switched Zangoose back in against Froslass, just to take it back again... pointless. Don't know why I did that lol

Competitive battling has been my thing since GSC. Hank can tell you. Even back in RBY, we weren't as into the math as we are now - but half of the game is being able to predict what your opponent is going to do. I've beaten OU teams with weird UU teams. Just because people take OU stereotypes and don't learn how to switch and all that.

The one thing I'd recommend is putting a second attack on your Slowbro. Thunder Wave is great support, but it doesn't work well on a CM set since you get walled by Water Absorb or any bulky special water. Either go with T-wave/Surf/Slack Off/something annoying or go with a second attack over Twave and CM over the last slot.

Was your Bastiodon Focus Sashed? A pokemon with a typing like that is only effective with the Sash and Metal Burst, even though you get screwed by Hail. You may want to consider a different lead for Stealth Rock that doesn't get OHKO'd by two of the most common attacks in the game: Earthquake and Close Combat.

Everything else seemed fine. I used to run a Skuntank set that allowed it to outspeed most pokemon after a Salac Boost, utilizing Substitute and STAB Special attacks. Oh yeah, Destiny Bond too.

Since second gen, huh? Back when those were new, I had no idea that competative battling like this existed. I didn't learn about this side of battling until about a little over a year ago, and the team that you battled is actually my first team. And very recent at that. With your experience, I'm sure you can vouch for how much there is to learn.

And I agree about Slowbro. I'll probably replace TWave, seeing as even with the opponent's speed cut, Slowbro won't be outspeeding anything itself. Flamethrower might be interesting, although that doesn't help with the bulky waters. Maybe Signal Beam from the Plat. tutor? Not sure though.

No, Bastiodon wasn't Focus Sashed; it had Leftovers. And I definatley get what you're saying about the typing. My Bastiodon has yet to survive a battle.

Your Skuntank sounds much more efficient than mine.
Skuntank @ Life Orb: Aftermath
Hasty; 252 Atk, 204 Spd, 54 SpAtk
- Crunch
- Fire Blast
- Explosion
- Toxic
Not to say it's bad; I've gotten more successful use out of it than I really expected. It just lacks... strategy I guess? I feel like I should replace Toxic. I actually have yet to use it with this set- it's kind of the odd move out.

My only recommendation, since Stuntank has okay defenses and decent HP is to go with Dark Pulse over Crunch. Toxic is okay, your one thing is you have to use it on a switch. Or try to force a switch and use it. Which is me saying the same thing. You're not using a bad set, but mixing your EVs would prove better with an all out attacking set. If you want to keep your spread you're better off with something like Explosion/Fire Blast/Sucker Punch/Sludge Bomb. Unfortunately your coverage isn't great but Sludge Bomb is a good STAB attack, and Sucker Punch can effectively pick off faster fragile pokemon. You probably won't 1 shot them but you can probably 2 hit them or something.

Dunno why you have a beef with all 31 IVs. It took at least 30 eggs but I was able to get a Gible years ago with 31 in all but special attack, and for a Garchomp it might as well have been maxed. It's not particularly hard to do, just time consuming. Allowing hax but not 31s is asinine since the two go hand in hand.
