With old favorites like no auto-leveling, Phione ban and Item Clause, to which we add a middle finger to Diamond and Pearl users, and my new favorite:

ROTOM IS NOW UBER

Lol. I also bet "random checks" won't catch on to pokes bred from hacks.

But seriously, wtf. How is Rotom Uber? It makes zero sense.

(I bet an official got swept by a Rotom)

Better hacks will probably go undetected, I think.

And I'm not sure I've seen anything regarding illegal move combinations, either. All hail Belly Drum + Aqua Jet Azumarill!

No, it's because it's possible for NA carts to have alternate Rotom forms on them when the key hasn't been released over here. Rather than try to verify they were traded from a legit JP cart (which they may not be able to do using their methods) they banned it altogether.

It's actually not that retarded a rule IMO. I can't offer a reason why regular Rotom isn't allowed, but any event-based poke is automatically banned. It's why Phione is banned. Having it means you've interacted somehow with an event poke and they're unwilling to go to the trouble to prove it came from a legitimate source.

The breeding from hacks thing is a problem, but that much harder to verify. "No pokemon coming from eggs" just isn't possible or plausible, but banning anything correlating to an event certainly is. Think of it more as a banlist and not a tier and it's suddenly not worth bitching over.

Fine, but it's still completely unfair to ban regular Rotoms.

And Manaphy/Phione can be gotten through a NA Ranger.

The problem with Phione is that you can breed a Phione from another Phione. So spreading Phiones with most people never ever coming close to being in contact with a Manaphy wouldn't be that hard.

Yeah, I don't agree with everything, nor do I agree with banning Rotom; I simply understand their logic (I think.)

Oh, and BTW, the first round takes place long after the Canadian Rotom event. Just nitpicking.

As annoyed as I get with their poor effort and lack of polish, I'm just waiting for Genius Sonority to make the next console Poke game so I can actually play around with Origin Giratina. The platinum cart doesn't let you experiment with the thing AT ALL. You can't get its necessary hold item until post-game; otherwise it only morphs when inside the enemy-less Torn World. The Battle Tower of course is a no-go.

I'm so glad I decided to hack Rotom-S and Skymin (originally I planned my team to consist of four pokes and two slaves, without those two) and play through the main RPG with them, so I could at least enjoy using them outside of an online server, you know, have the fun of actually raising them. Rotom can't use alternate forms inside the battle tower, which is fucking weak.

Haha, fun. Wobbuffet? Go right ahead. Garchomp? Knock yourself out. Rotom-S? OH NO YOU DIDN'T.

It's more like "LOL SEE WHUT WE DID THAR" when you notice it's just a plain old Rotom with subpar stats and no specialty move.

Someone from Libelldra must enter with Garchomp and Wobby.

Even with tournaments like these, enough people take them seriously to force people to use well thought and synergized teams. The UBER ubers are banned, so there won't be too many "oh that is some weak-ass shit" one-ups, at least not from kids packing Hyper Beam and Fly Rayquaza.

It's official now: the whole "Rotom appliances are Japan only" will be gone by the time the tournament comes around, as even the Mystery Gift event takes place before it.

Entrants to receive a shiny Milotic, though... that'd be a nice collector's item.

The Rotom items are not Japan only.

When you buy Platinum (I did on opening day, so it might be just people who got in then), you get a small pamphlet that tells you how to get mystery gift along with an online code so you can unlock one of the appliances. You can mystery gift with other people to get the other 4.

Dude, that's for Desktop Wallpaper. The Secret Key is the mystery gift item, which you will not get from a code on that pamphlet.

Wait, how do you unlock ONE of the appliances? Aren't they all in the same room, and require the use of the same item?

Oh, that makes more sense that way. It would've been stupid to go through so much fuss to make Secret Key events online and at Toys 'R Us if you could just get the appliances via Mystery Gifting with friends.
