Yugioh Virtual Desktop or YVD for short, is a net simulator which is like ShoddyBattle for Pokemon. Now in all seriousness, before I get flamed and -1, does anyone still play Yugioh?

If anybody's interested, you can download it at xerocreative, and register a nickname to duel people. (No, I am not trying to advertise.) Ok, one last thing. inb4children'scardgame.

"still" implies there was a point I actually bothered with that shit.

However I watched a bunch of the Abridged Series and found them amusing, but then you don't have to know exactly what he's mocking to find them funny.

Eh, played it in 6th grade, 5 years ago, kind of dropped it after that. It was fun while it lasted, but my friends stopped playing, and it's obviously no fun on your own.

I dunno. >_>

Never played Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic the Gathering, or Dungeons and Dragons. Just Pokemon and Pokemon cards.

Back when I was younger i was a HARDCORE nintendo fanboy and wouldn't play anything else, lmao xD

I play MTG a bit, but atm it's just me and a few friends making our own cards and printing them. Its fun. Also, horribly unfair.

This was -1'd for no reason...

I used to like Yu-Gi-Oh a lot (lol I even wrote a few articles about it, a long long time ago for some site), but the more the game progressed (as in, the more retarded the cards became), the more I lost my interest in it. Now, I really don't bother with it anymore, but I still understand why someone would still really enjoy playing it :)

EDIT: This topic gave me a new idea for an avatar, thanks Cross

lol I'm the same way, I still mostly use cards like tyrant dragon and mystic tomato. The reason yu-gi-oh started to suck was because for a long time, the cards just kept getting stronger and stronger, pretty soon there were a whole bunch of common 4 star cards with 1900 atk and/or a kickass ability. Finally the people who designed yu-gi-oh cards went "oh shit" so they started making cards a lot weaker in stats with interesting abilities (making a good burn deck as broken as hell). So now most cards on the ban list are older, yu-gi-oh is still losing popularity (no thanks to the tv show), and the only good players are the ones around when the old cards were sold. I went to a yu-gi-oh tournament when I was 14, I was like the 3rd youngest kid there and it showed. The judges were saying how awesome my deck was, but in every match, I'd just go headlong into the opponent's sakuretsu armor with my 7+ star monster. (for those who play, try snatch steal and bad reaction to simochi, possible 8 turn win). Another bad thing was how easy they made it to get cards the veterans had to work so hard for. I bought some crappy game in canada just to get D.D. assailant, just for it to now be sold in those 9.99 D.D. decks (emes the infinity is still rare and pretty cool though (2500 atk, 7 star, gains 500 attack every time it beats an opponent's monster))

Lol, whaddya know. You guys probably wouldn't like the state of the game now, reading from your posts. You're more than likely to get One Turn Kill'd by the third or fourth turn per game. Yep, that's how fast the metagame in YGO has gone.

Black Garden Counter Fairy variants hold up pretty well against TeleDAD.

Holy fuck, Black Garden Counter Fairy? That's one hell of a variant. I've been running this deck that's based off a Japanese one. >_>

The Japanese name is called Synchro Undead. Take Tele-DAD and then add in the long ass turns + Special Summonings that Zombies have.

Also, I demand to know more about this Black Garden Counter Fairy. I've made up my own Plant Variant Deck. Seeing how it's either Giga-Plant swarm, or Black Garden control.

Edit: Here's my current Plant Deck that I've been tinkering with. Times like these, I wish we had those Hide/Show tags.

3x Tytannial, Princess of Camellias
3x Destiny Hero - Plasma
3x Destiny Hero - Malicious
3x Lonefire Blossom
2x Mystic Tomato
1x Night's End Sorcerer
2x Krebons
1x Plaguespreader Zombie
1x Sangan
3x Destiny Draw
3x Trade-In
1x Scapegoat
2x Fires of Doomsday
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
2x Cold Wave
1x Brain Control
1x Heavy Storm
1x Monster Reborn
1x Torrential Tribute
3x Solemn Judgment
1x Rainbow Life
1x Raigeki Break

1x Black Rose Dragon
2x Stardust Dragon
1x Red Dragon Archfiend
1x Thought Ruler Archfiend
2x Goyo Guardian
1x Colossal Fighter
1x Revived King Ha Des
1x Doomkaiser Dragon
1x Magical Android

As you can see, I've tried applying a Draw Engine, something Plants desperately need imo. But the only ones I could think of was Destiny Draw and Trade-In. Overall, this deck could use a bit of help.

Ah, Zombie Synchro, eh? I've been running that build in real life for a month now. The only pieces missing are the Goblin Zombies and the obviously impossibly rare Dark Armed Dragons.

Black Garden Counter Fairies basically uses the Garden to cut any huge ATK monsters in half, using the Tokens as bait for the Plant's own Solemn Judgment, and using Tytannial's effect with Garden's token to provide advantage in the early game.

As for the deck, it's true that Plants are in desperate need of a draw spell, however, they make it up by using Mark of the Rose to steal good opposing monsters. You're probably better off using a more Plant based deck without the D-Heroes for the reason that they will be a dead draw without any reliable discard fodder (ergo D-Draw/Trade-In, both of which are fairly dead draws themselves if you don't draw into the Tytannials/Plasmas/Malicious).

2x Tytannial
2x Gigaplant
3x Lonefire Blossom
1x Plaguespreader Zombie
2x Nettles
1x Sangan
2x Botanical Lion

2x Mark of the Rose
3x Black Garden
1x Heavy Storm
1x Monster Reborn
1x Giant Trunade
1x Brain Control
2x Miracle Fertilizer

3x Solemn Judgment
2x Phoenix Wing Wind Blast
1x Torrential Tribute
2x Pollinosis

3x Goyo Guardian
3x Stardust Dragon
2x Colossal Fighter
2x Thought Ruler Archfiend
1x Iron Chain Dragon
1x Black Rose Dragon
1x Revived King Ha Des
1x Red Dragon Archfiend
1x Doomkaiser Dragon

I'd try a build with that in mind. I didn't fill it all the way up, since I can't obviously figure out your playstyle. The basic idea behind the deck is just set Black Garden before you go Lonefire > Tytannial > flip Black Garden > Set Pollinosis/Solemn Judgment/PWWB as back-up. It'll be difficult to get past that set-up. With Miracle Fertilizer providing the free Lonefires, you should be okay as you'll lock up your opponent's field too with all your summonings. Marks will give you a way out to anything short of Thought Ruler Archfiends as well as being a handy Synchro Summoning supporter with Nettles and PSZ. Oh yeah, aside from using Miracle Fertilizer to summon Lonefires, you can use it to bring back Nettles who can provide more Synchro Summons with the Gigaplants and the Level 4s that you have as well as being a good chump blocker using your Tokens that you get from the Garden to keep Nettles in play. Add more Level 4s.

Lol, yeah, it can be. I'm a pretty good casual player myself. I feel the same way about Pokemon actually, might come back after Platinum is released.

I kinda see what you mean, the only real reason I hate Black Garden Control is that it turns out to a huge stall war. Since there's no reliable way to deal damage besides effects. As for the Synchro Undead build I'm running, I took the idea from Japanese players. Hold on, I'll post my deck.

2x Dark Armed Dragon
1x Gorz the Emissary of Darkness
3x Destiny Hero - Malicious
1x Zombie Master
3x Mezuki
2x Armageddon Knight
3x Plaguespreader Zombie
2x Krebons
1x Psychic Commander
1x Goblin Zombie
3x Allure of Darkness
2x Card of Safe Return
2x Foolish Burial
3x Emergency Teleport
1x Heavy Storm
1x Monster Reborn
1x Brain Control
2x Burial from a Different Dimension
1x Torrential Tribute
2x Raigeki Break
1x Trap Dustshoot
2x Phoenix Wing Wind Blast

1x Red Dragon Archfiend
3x Stardust Dragon
2x Thought Ruler Archfiend
3x Goyo Guardian
2x Doomkaiser Dragon
1x Revived King Ha Des
1x Colossal Fighter
1x Black Rose Dragon
1x Magical Android

This is what I'm running atm on YVD. I have a consistent Draw Engine using CoSR while Allure quickens my pace. I really don't have to explain much as the cards explain for themselves. >_>

Yeah. The deck basically plays itself when you God Hand, really.

To be honest, I play with the American version. Japanese players are good, but honestly, Americans are superior with their own builds. All things considered as we have the SJCs, as opposed to their local tournaments that happen five times a day.
