Haha, that Christmas party took a turn for the unexpected. I got "acquainted" with one of my cousins' girlfriend, and I use the term "acquainted" loosely because it turns out I went to elementary school with that girl, which means I hadn't seen her for 13 years.
And then later I'm playing cribbage with my aunt, and I'm totally thrashing her, and then she pulls out the best hand in the entire game (7-7-8-8-9, then again it's only the best because we don't give extra points for jacks) near the end and barely ekes out a win. Well, if lightning could strike twice at the same place then it most certainly did.

I have MKWii and GHIII along with some other obscure games my aunt gave me
We're selling like half our GC games so we'll probably buy moar gaems soon

MKWii's wifi is great, like GHIII's and GHWT's, and Brawl's... sucks ass, you can ask Cross. In our matches (me vs Cross vs Gatr) there was so much lag... man. I ragequitted right there, it was annoying.

That's because you're connecting from RI to Florida, RI to Portugal, and Florida to Portugal
The first is like 1800 miles and to Portugal is like 3000 so naturally it's going to suck.

Well, let's just say this. When I play Brawl, as long as it's not against Doom, there's no problem. I can Brawl Travis and Gameboy and there will be no lag. So it just depends on who you brawl.

A friend in NY and I can't play Brawl too often. We've had a handful of matches or even days where it's lag free, but otherwise the button delay is atrocious. I can't play Ness, one of my favorite characters, since I'm all but guaranteed to fail a Thunder recovery.
Unfortunately I'm pretty sure the problem is on my end.
