So, I am working on the art gallery I promised you guys, but there is one major problem. In the gallery there are galleries and then albums, but I don't know that much about art in the Pokemon world so I need suggestions from you guys. Basically I just want you guys to suggest all of the art categories to me that you can think of, and when we get a fair amount of suggestions, I will group them and ask you guys what you think, and if you approve, we will go with that.

Here are some suggestions Iggy has already put forth:

So, there we have it. If you object to anything anyone else suggests, including what Iggy has suggested, say so. I don't want to have galleries/albums of stuff nobody cares about or will ever post to.

"Official artwork" is the only one I wouldn't see getting use, since I don't recall people posting any in the past, maybe join the section with "Fan art" and name the combination of the two differently.

Then again I wasn't delligently lurking the old Art section, it would be better if someone can provide a more informed opinion on this.

In addition to those, there could be a "Comics" section, since I know some users were working on those, but, again, it would be better if they spoke up personally about this to see if the section would see use or not.

To sum it up.

There are splices (which are pretty popular in pokemon), fan art, and just random art.

But yeah, there isn't much artwork in pokemon but Fant Art, Sprites, and then Miscellaneous non-pokemon stuff, which could be divided into subcategories like Comics.

By the way, what do you mean by "official art"? ?_?

I'm pretty much in concurrence with the other guys. Most sites just have fan art and random art, but it's been said that splices are popular. So, just those three categories seem like the only truly necessary ones.

The only "official" art I could see being posted would be that from the Pokemon source (but we're not exactly Serebii either). So, I'm thinking maybe it could also be "official" Libelldran art. You know, stuff made specifically for Libelldra as a whole.

Just my thoughts though.
