I know I'm hella late on this, but man, is this one great RPG. I don't wanna get too into it 'cause I'll write a research paper, but all I will say is the translation patch is finished and you should download it RIGHT NOW. You can find it here: http://mother3.fobby.net/

Perhaps. Personally, I find that it's way better than Earthboud, and, seeing as EB was my favorite RPG ever before this came along, I think that says something.
Is their any way nintendo can actually enforce the law of owning an imported copy before downloading this. I want to play it but buying it is another story. I don't even know if I'll like it.

It's practically impossible to buy (read: only released in japan for GBA) and doesn't come in English unless you get the ROM and patch...
Furthermore, people rarely get in trouble for downloading ROMs. If you aren't downloading ridiculous amounts, then you're fine, and that law can't be easily enforced.
Well... where to start? The game felt tedious at times, the combat felt a little too bare-bones, the so-called humor didn't amuse me at all (and keep in mind I consider myself easily amused)...
Though two things I DID like was the whole ambush system (something that was absent from RPGs with a similar random encounter system, such as ToS, Chrono Trigger or Sonic Chronicles), and the rolling HP counter (which I never saw in any other RPG I played).
Indeed. I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago, and it's great. Although I haven't played recently because of school and stuff. I'm in the beginning of Chapter 2, which is kind of annoying. I don't like Duster's fighting style.
