So, since it's an event Dragonite, surely it would be special in some way, right? Officially, it is, and here's what Pokémon.com has to say:

The promotional Dragonite will be able to enter official tournaments that are limited to level 50 Pokémon.

Or better yet, why don't you use the option that allows lowering everything to level 50 or bumping everything to 100?

IDIOTS.

Oh, and even if you get the right nature, good luck EV training that thing without leveling up.

IDIOTS.

Not to mention, forget about breeding to get the IVs you want (egg moves suck, thankfully) - as if it needed another handicap against Salamence and Garchomp. (Because yeah, they allow Wobbuffet and Garchomp.)

IDIOTS IDIOTS IDIOTS.

At least they have the courtesy of giving the thing moves it learns after level 50. Now watch as those turn out to be Wing Attack and Hyper Beam instead of Dragon Dance and Outrage.

IDIOTS?

And finally, using the "level equalizer" for tournaments would've allowed them to give Dragonite something it really needed. Hint: GIVE IT BACK EXTREMESPEED ALREADY.

YEAH, IDIOTS.

What the hell makes a Dragonite special? We can use one at 50 already without abiding by some arbitrary retarded tournament rule (albeit one of many joke rules for a tournament that anyone over 11 years old regards as a joke) and unless it's shiny or has some moves it can't use.. ..there's absolutely no incentive to go for this thing let alone eagerly anticipate it.

Internet battle > real life battles. RL battles have stupid restrictions like *checking authenticity*. It happened at a competition I visited (Couldn't enter - missed registration >_>). This guy checked to see if the GBA carts had the seal on it.
DOT DOT DOT
Not to mention the guy who won hacked, but he *passed* the authenticity check.
I have never entered real life games and I don't think there will ever be a point to them.

EDIT: Also stupid rules that allow Ubers but ban Celebi/Jirachi/Shaymin

Yeah. For some time after that Seattle Frontier Brain disgrace of a tournament, many people (myself included) couldn't resist the urge to make snide remarks about "fat kids with ubers" usually when some random person expressed disdain for EV training or tiers.

I don't really know why, but having never done an RL battle in my life apart from fighting a couple random friends over the DS, it didn't stop me from taking the time to breed for IVs and train a large number of pokes... somewhere around the two dozen mark. Those power items made it seem worth the trouble. Ended up being a waste since by the time PBR rolled around I had gotten an AR and learned to use Pokesav.

Well, the lv 50 event Dragonite given in the begining of the year (in japan) was Mild and Had Dragon Dance and Outrage. ANd i guess they are doing this so everyone can use this dragonite in worlds 2009

Because the nature's fixed, and it's Mild on top of that? Well, that means you can only use it for Specs sets. Which, I suppose, is better than the neutral-natured Surf Pikachu, which does nothing.

It's the thought that counts. Against it.

MAYBE THIS DRAGONITE WILL HAVE EXTREMESPEED.

I doubt it though

Nope, all we know is that it's going to be level 50 with level-up moves that are learned later than that. If it had ES they'd advertise the hell out of that fact.

Edit, Oct. 22: Placebo Effect had the right idea - it's the same as the Japanese one, which had DD, Outrage, Thunderbolt and Draco Meteor, with a Yache berry. No word on the nature, though it's probably going to be Mild as well.
