That kind of theorymon just blows my mind ATM. I'm so used at having four moves that any more would make the possibilities for everyone increase exponentially. So I'm not even going to try.

Oh yeah, and if you're going to hack your way into using ubers in the Battle Tower, how about maybe giving SD Lati@s a spin? Or Arceus? I get the feeling these would be quite effective too.

Also, some random thing I found today. Raine's cooking gives seizures! (Yes, I know Colette was the cook, but had it been Raine it would've done the same thing anyway.)

Edit: The last leg of Metroid Prime seems to be a lot tougher than on the GameCube! I swear, I unleashed the equivalent of a nuclear holocaust on Omega Pirate's kneecaps and they wouldn't blow up... is this some crazy glitch I never encountered before? My preferred method for Ridley's ground phase is gone as well... the Wavebuster just doesn't work anymore, so now I have to Plasma Beam my way to victory. And did I mention FISSION METROIDS IN THE PHAZON MINES? Though I sort of expected that, I heard the European GCN version had these too. I haven't tried to fight Metroid Prime yet, but I'm already fearing what changes they may have done to it.

So guys, I finally got Pokemon Rumble and I beat the game I'm currently on Advanced? The Sinoh Pokemon, or whatever. The Johto and Hoenn Pokemon were skipped, it seems. Or maybe I was suppose to play Normal after beating the game. But this game is pretty addicting in it's own elaborate way.

Yeah, there is no Hoenn or Johto pokemon (So, for instance, there are Porygon and Porygon Z but not Porygon 2, there are Budew and Rozerade but not Rozelia, and there are Probopass and no Nosepass) All the more reason to hope for the add on pack!

Not gonna happen. Adding more Pokémon wouldn't do much. Besides, a lot of spin-offs don't have every Pokémon... Mystery Dungeon is practically the exception, not the rule.

Edit: Whoever had the brilliant idea of decreasing money won from battles with Sheena in your party should be hung. It's not like it was a good idea to use her and all, for the same reason as all the other ToS characters, but that just seals the deal. It's quite ironic though, because Sheena was fantastic for farming money in the original.

True, true... But it would make it more fun, dangit! I wanna play as my Feraligatr and Manectric! Of course, I kinda just want to play it in the first place...

...so yeah. Any reason why the site has shrunk?

Unlucky is really unfortunate, yes. What makes it worse is that the skill is glued to Sheena for the entire game. Just don't use the ToS cast, period. Might be great for nostalgia's sake, but... They're just too terrible.

Hahahahaha! I'm on the leaderboards for Room 1, Rank 10 on Platinum WiFi. Clearing that rank was incredibly easy (most teams sucked) so here's hoping I'm an opponent for some people!

This is what they'll face:

Gliscor @ Power Herb
Ice Fang
Earthquake
Sky Attack
Guillotine

Snorlax @ Quick Claw
Body Slam
Crunch
Superpower
Fissure

Lapras @ Micle Berry
Ice Beam
Thunder
Hydro Pump
Sheer Cold

The AI certainly does use hax, only they're more confined to what the humans give them, so stuff like Haxdaunt doesn't exist. Still, I'm hoping that Snorlax will serve the same purpose at some point.

Think I should move down Rank 1 and seed all the rooms, or seed more Rank 10 rooms? And should I change the teams up, maybe try some Flygon, Walrein, Abomasnow, Rhyperior, etc? Unfortunately amongst the OHKO users, those that can both take and dish out abuse are... scarce, and stuff like Abomasnow doesn't really fit nicely into either group.

Edit: Gliscor used to have U-Turn and Focus Sash, but after some deliberation I liked the prospect of Sky Attack hax in the hands of the CPU a lot more, and the EV spread I gave Gliscor would only see it OHKOed by special ice and water anyway.

Dang.. seems like when you challenge earlier rooms, they don't ask you to upload your results. I guess I have to lose or something.

Never mind- "earlier room" just means the one you conquered last. They still only let you challenge rooms in the rank you're in, though, so I'm confined to 10.

Found this gem on the daily GameFAQs top 10, this one was from the top Nintendo levels.

There you have it, my Top 10 Most Memorable Nintendo Levels. I understand that many people will disagree with my list ("No Zelda?! No Metroid!?") but to be honest I can only judge by the games I've played. I have never played Zelda or Metroid games. Yeah, I'm the only person alive, I know. But still I think I offered a pretty well-rounded set of those levels that you can play and think "This is special."

I honestly think that if you've never played Zelda or Metroid, you are NOT qualified to make any top 10 lists that pertain to Nintendo - no doubt most people would have like half of their lists coming from those two series alone. It's as if I was writing up something about Square without ever playing a Final Fantasy game.

On my end... still waiting for those stats. I really wanted to get started today, because tomorrow I'm going back to work, and the next few weeks are pretty much the busiest ones of the year, so I don't think I'll be able to do much progress this week.

People bother to read those top ten things?

And someone already uploaded a replay vs the CPU using my team, but the CPU lost. Only one OHKO landed, a Sheer Cold.

CLASH ON THE BIG BRIDGE! I love that song!

Yeah, I check these out of morbid curiosity. This is GameFAQs, after all, and given who goes there for the most part, there's bound to be some awesome examples of stupidity right there on the front page. I like feeling better by comparison sometimes!

I especially liked the Black Mages remix. I also loved their version of the Four Fiends and Zeromus.

Which do you think would make a better lead for the tower, Scarf or Sash Abomasnow? Sash is Modest and Blizzard/Knot/HP Fire/Cold, Scarf is Blizz/EQ/Wood/Cold.

15-28740-42743: Much worse hax in that two OHKOs land and Snow Cloak works its magic, meaning I took no damage during the encounter. Not that the opponent had a team that could/should have ravaged mine.

Yeah, the Black Mages have several good ones. I'm a fan of Still More Fighting and The Decisive Battle, myself. And the Four Fiends, of course.

Also, Control is beyond broken at times. I only gave it to Faris, but those ABP spent have earned their keep for sure. Two words: Shield Dragon. Prime grinding spot right there. I have the other three spam Guard until Faris successfully controls it... BTW, it's also worth it to give casters some melee job skills as well. Like Guard. Oh yeah, and I bought the level 4 black magic, which is where apparently the Mystic Knight becomes really good. Speaking of which, if I use Spellblade on a dual-wielding Mystic Knight, is the spellblade applied to both weapons, or just one?

Didn't I specifically tell you about the Shield Dragon? =P

Spellblade is applied to both. You'll want those two along with Rapid Fire when you fight Omega MK-II; it's the easiest way to beat it.

Hmm, so if I'm getting this right, I can only do that with a Freelancer that has Ninja mastered, right?

I'm also wondering, how good are abilities that use up items or money, like Throw, Zeninage and Mix? I've never been a big fan of that kind of stuff, I'd much rather fling high-level magic at bosses, then sleep at an inn - much cheaper that way. Shurikens in particular are so pricey, they might as well come straight out of Exdeath's ass.

Throw is decent if you have the shit for it; if the damage formula is anything like FF6 those things deal obscene damage. Mix and Combine can be sickeningly powerful but IIRC the best ingredients are either in finite supply or hard to come by. Consult a guide. That said, I like them. Zenigage is ass.

Mime can do the Spellblade-Rapid-Dual setup also. However Freelancer can also have Time Magic or whatever that stuff is called and use Quick which makes a big difference.

Jan 4 '10

Oh, right, I forgot Mimes could use daggers. But since Mimes have three free slots to the Freelancer's two, aren't Mimes the ones who can have Time Magic at the same time as well? (Note to self: master Summoner for the higher MP pool.)

Edit: I looked it up for kicks, and it turns out scrolls are halfway between -ara and -aga spells in terms of power. But, it does come from the Ninja's sucky Magic score, so having a magic ability equipped (white magic can always come in handy) would significantly raise the damage. I'm going to give Shurikens a try (and reload the game after, since as I said, they're so much more expensive than in FF6) and see what comes out of it. Mix only has one recipe I'd like to try, and that's Shadow Flare... nearly everything else can be done just as well by another class. Combine sounds really, really cool if you know which item to use in which battle, but then again that's just theory.

Edit 2: I withdraw what I said against Mix. It seems I overlooked quite a few good ones...

Yeah, Mix has a handful of decent ones.

I may have gotten Mime/Freelancer free slots mixed up, I just know one can have three of any ability and one can have four. For standard slogging and flogging I know Krile was Rapid Fire, Combine, and one of the magics.

It's odd that I underestimated Mix so much, since I'm a chemist by trade... I really should've looked it up fully. As for the free slots, Freelancer is stuck with Attack and Items, while Mime only has Mimic. So that's two free slots for the Freelancer, and three for the Mime.

Anyway, time to get to writing... the stats have been posted! I already did the basic outline, but that's just a whole bunch of Pokémon numbers sorted by column. Now the real fun begins!

The Wifi Tower impregnation continues, now with five different teams scattered about:

Gliscor, Snorlax, Lapras
Abomasnow, Mamoswine, Walrein
Pinsir, Rapidash, Flygon
Hippowdon, Gastrodon, Rhyperior
Kingler, Nidoking, Articuno

The defensive Rhyperior works so well I ended up dropping its Focus Sash for a Micle Berry, since it just wasn't getting OHKOed by the stuff I'd be hit with. The many Aura Spheres and HP Ices and Earthquakes and Aqua Tails all did impressively low damage, considering the target.
