At least you didn't shell out $500 for it!
Okay, rant time. Why do so many games insist on having fishing mini-games? It seems like a must-have ever since OoT, but I never found any of them fun. Twilight Princess' was the only one that I found somewhat close to acceptable, but I'm still having nightmares about Big's A-rank stages in SA1. And then ToS2 comes and ratchets up the diarrhea dial another notch. Simply put, all I need to fish is a waggle of the Wiimote, but I have a fraction of a microsecond to do it. Once the meter starts going up, you HAVE to pull, but four times out of five the meter ends up in the red and I get nothing. This would be fine and all, except for the fact that I HAVE TO PAY FOR EVERY ATTEMPT. In Zelda games, you can shell out a few rupees and fish for the remainder of your life if you so desire. Here, instead of paying 500 gald once every time I want to get down to the lake, I have to pay every time I cast the goddamn Tenebrod. I know you're supposed to catch non-edible fish to get some money back, but I'd much rather have fishing be less expensive, and do away with the fishies. This would have the added benefit of me picking up more items that way, so the time spent could actually be sort of worth it since it's much too difficult to succeed in nailing something.
As for FF5, remember when I said I'd try having four Blue Mages spam Vampire with some Barehanded action thrown in? Broken. BROKEN BROKEN BROKEN. I understand why it's so expensive to allow blue magic to be used by other classes, I'm having flashes of the brilliance that was FF7's blue magic. Making Strago suck that much more by comparison.
My brother got Metroid Prime Trilogy for Christmas, and outside of the obvious bonuses we noticed a few changes. The coolest one is that they added an actual staircase in the Hive Mecha's room! If you remember the Gamecube version, sometimes it could be a real pain to get back up on the platform if you got thrown into the poisonous water since the stairs were placed so high. In fact, while the boss is really easy, a freak accident could occur, and you could go from full to dead because it was so hard to get out of the water. This, more than anything else, was my favorite application of the early Space Jump trick. So with that trick gone, it was only fair that they'd give us an easier way out of the poison. They also extended Flaahgra's theme... thankfully. It was easily the worst track of all three games combined. I've also been told that they nerfed the Boost and Spider Guardians somewhat, which is a good thing as unlike most other bosses, you simply cannot avoid getting hit at times, and they added another difficulty level on top of that.
