FINALLY!
I beat it! I finally fucking beat EX-4!
Very interesting fights, for two reasons, which I shall now explain, and you may ignore if you wish.
Normally, 4-1 ends with me down to one poke, usually because I lead with Punchy Rhyperior and just try to take down what I can. I never use Machamp because I can't afford to brainfart and lose him then, since he does 90% of the work in 4-2. Rhyperior usually ends up getting OHKOed once the water team spawns, and from there I bust out Darkrai, Magnezone, Garchomp, or Mewtwo. If one from that set gets killed, another takes its place. I usually don't have much trouble with the birds.
This successful run, however, saw Rhyperior solo the entire thing. I had never gotten to use him against the birds, but it was so laughable that they died before everything else (a couple of Nidokings were my final opponents.) One of the only times I've ever seen something in EX4 take over 1000 damage per hit.
Unfortunately, thinking I was "finally getting the hang of this" I get cocky and open with my Heatran, and get killed within the first ten seconds. After a bit of FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK I feel I have no choice but to send in Machamp, since at least the room was loaded with normal types and I could scrape together some stopwatches. Not surprisingly, Champy is able to survive until the uber dragons show up, but is killed quickly afterward (which is also what usually happens.)
In comes the baby which gave me the confidence to start attempting EX4 again- Sky Attack Moltres. Or should I say, flinching-and-multihitting-for-huge-numbers Moltres. Moltres makes extremely quick work of Giratina and Dialga by shoving them into the barriers. Palkia is hit a few times and flinched, so it leaves me alone.
Mewtwo makes his unwelcome sight and I get the hell away from the center, taking out some of his flunkies. Offscreen, Palkia's health plummets thanks to Mewtwo, who manages to kill five of his buddies as well. Guess he wanted to make things interesting, eh? One-on-one?
Well, he never got a single hit in. I flinched him repeatedly and cowered behind Protect in between Sky Attack spam, and before long.... the bastard actually went down! There was one extremely close call, when Protect wore off while I was a pixel away from his psychic, which I am positive would have OHKOed me.
Finally I'm done with this damn game. I think I'll try completing the pokedex for lulz, first.
Edit: I have reason to believe Roar of Time is the strongest move in the game. Nowhere near best, and you're kinda asking to be raped by using it, but jesus christ the damage is about as far from shabby as you can get.
