Of course I have to do something special to stand out among all the LPers around, that's my own personal touch.

Also, I got my RotS Ghost! Name's Sarah, which isn't nearly as bad as Quenstedite. I found plenty of ghosts with male names though, and I really hope I don't end up with a Lamia with one such name...

FINALLY!

I beat it! I finally fucking beat EX-4!

Very interesting fights, for two reasons, which I shall now explain, and you may ignore if you wish.

Normally, 4-1 ends with me down to one poke, usually because I lead with Punchy Rhyperior and just try to take down what I can. I never use Machamp because I can't afford to brainfart and lose him then, since he does 90% of the work in 4-2. Rhyperior usually ends up getting OHKOed once the water team spawns, and from there I bust out Darkrai, Magnezone, Garchomp, or Mewtwo. If one from that set gets killed, another takes its place. I usually don't have much trouble with the birds.

This successful run, however, saw Rhyperior solo the entire thing. I had never gotten to use him against the birds, but it was so laughable that they died before everything else (a couple of Nidokings were my final opponents.) One of the only times I've ever seen something in EX4 take over 1000 damage per hit.

Unfortunately, thinking I was "finally getting the hang of this" I get cocky and open with my Heatran, and get killed within the first ten seconds. After a bit of FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK I feel I have no choice but to send in Machamp, since at least the room was loaded with normal types and I could scrape together some stopwatches. Not surprisingly, Champy is able to survive until the uber dragons show up, but is killed quickly afterward (which is also what usually happens.)

In comes the baby which gave me the confidence to start attempting EX4 again- Sky Attack Moltres. Or should I say, flinching-and-multihitting-for-huge-numbers Moltres. Moltres makes extremely quick work of Giratina and Dialga by shoving them into the barriers. Palkia is hit a few times and flinched, so it leaves me alone.

Mewtwo makes his unwelcome sight and I get the hell away from the center, taking out some of his flunkies. Offscreen, Palkia's health plummets thanks to Mewtwo, who manages to kill five of his buddies as well. Guess he wanted to make things interesting, eh? One-on-one?

Well, he never got a single hit in. I flinched him repeatedly and cowered behind Protect in between Sky Attack spam, and before long.... the bastard actually went down! There was one extremely close call, when Protect wore off while I was a pixel away from his psychic, which I am positive would have OHKOed me.

Finally I'm done with this damn game. I think I'll try completing the pokedex for lulz, first.

Edit: I have reason to believe Roar of Time is the strongest move in the game. Nowhere near best, and you're kinda asking to be raped by using it, but jesus christ the damage is about as far from shabby as you can get.

I completely forgot to take a look at the November usage lists... until now. Seems to me like SOMEONE was once a lock for Star of the Year, but completely blew it. Wow.

In other news... wow, I just fought Windmaster Prime in ToS2, and despite being level 18 from all the Ghost hunting and Katz sidequests, it STILL almost managed to kill me from full HP in one attack. Also, is it me or is Colette a lot more bearable as a support character than as the female lead? I used to hate her so much, but now I'm not sure. That Ruin Mode Raine impression was priceless.

I also (finally) got started a bit on FF5, and WTF? Galuf starts with no weapon! I've played four other FFs up to this point, and I'm pretty sure this is a first. Nevermind the fact that Galuf is decidedly better suited to be a physical attacker (before taking into account the fact that he gets replaced by a more mage-like character later in the game). At least the Pirate Cave wasn't hard at all, but it was just Bartz killing everything there.

Edit: I forgot to mention, Windmaster Prime dropped a Turbulence tome, which went straight onto my Ghost along with the First Aid one I bought. If I understand this correctly, it's this game's answer to Air Thrust, right?

Josef in FF2 starts without any weapons, but he's supposed to the monk of that game, so it makes sense.

Well, I suppose Galuf could make a pretty decent Monk, if only because Barehanded sounds like something Krile could make use of. But at the start of the game... he's a FREELANCER.

FF5 was a really fun game, at least until I attempted the Gil Turtle segment. Then it went to frustrating agony until I cleared it, and it became fun again. They really managed to spice up that GBA remake.

Oh and for lulz:

I'm not very far into the game (haven't even gotten the first jobs yet), but it does sound like fun. Especially how the game pushes you to mix and match jobs, whereas FF1 (which I haven't played yet) has your characters stay with the same job for the whole game, and FF3 (which I HAVE played) encourages you to switch as little as possible, even though you CAN switch.

Oh, yeah, and I forgot to mention that freaky scene at Hakonesia Peak. An RPG lead with spiky blond hair and a personality split goes apeshit every once in a while, seeing and hearing weird things? Where have I seen that before?

That scene isn't relevant until MUCH later, but it's actually interesting, in my opinion. Yeah, spoilers, not going to say anything. I liked it.

And Windmaster Prime kicked my level 16 ass the first time I got there. Bosses get significantly easier as you go on, if you do most of the quests. You'll be overlevelled as shit later on, believe me.

Turbulence is not as good as Air Thrust, but yes, it's the same concept and level of magic.

You know, it occurred to me that it kinda looks like I'm using this topic as my personal update thread for whatever random shit I happen to be doing, and I want to apologize if that annoyed you. It shall not continue.

No no no no, it's fine, it's absolutely fine, especially because, oh, I'm doing the exact same thing? I didn't bother leveling up my Hypocrite job.

Wii. You've played the first one, right?

Also, HE'S A SHE!!! Epicness. That's what happens when you try to strip down a fellow party member!

I should hope so. There are few things more fun than a woman masquerading as a guy! But come on, those pirates and party members are dumb as bricks. Just looking at her face shot, you can CLEARLY see she's a woman. And what's her excuse? She doesn't want to be the only woman on a ship full of pirates? Was never a problem for Tetra, and probably her mother before her.

Oh yeah, more pokeymanz!

Read between the lines. Hot babe amidst a bunch of grubby unscrupulous pirates? Even if she can kick a lot of ass, she wouldn't be able to hold them all off. It'd be like throwing a cheerleader to a group of prison inmates.

True... those don't exactly look like Tetra's crew.

Bonus!

Edit: I'm not that far yet, but I'm just wondering, which is better for a caster, Gaia or back-row Barehanded? A FAQ says Gaia, the other Barehanded... I'm confused ?_? Nonetheless, I'm glad I got Barehanded on everyone ASAP. It's really paying off, even from the back row.

Silence Bridge was always one of my least favorite areas, namely because my training methods meant I would have to backtrack all the way to heal at least once. The levels and EXP in 2nd gen were shitty enough that I wouldn't gain many levels, either. I know the leaders got some buffs, so hopefully the regular puny trainers will have, also.

Oh, and a DKC LP should be a wellspring of nerd rage, perhaps even more than SMB3. I look forward to that especially ;)

Not looking forward to Orang-utan Gang. That place has the most secret areas, and they're all well hidden and easy to miss. Not as much as the secret-inside-a-secret in Oil Drum Alley (which sadistic game designer though that one up?), but I'm going to look bad there no matter what.

DKC secrets are the type that I don't even try to find on my own. I was able to 100% NSMBWii by myself, but none of those secrets were as fiendish as some of any DKC game.

Same here, I need a walkthrough for these. Guess I'll be studying a guide carefully before recording each part.

Now, on to something else...

ZELOS!!! New voice actor, same great taste! Emil's face while he was hitting on Marta may be the most unintentionally funny thing I've ever seen in a video game (and Richter's perfect poker face just added to the funneh). Shame he didn't try to make a move on Alice as well, I would've imagined him as being into... well, that kind of stuff.

But when, oh when will I find a dish that my Ghost will like? I'm at Iselia now, with five recipes, and nothing doing, that synch stat is still at zero.

Hopefully I'll get started on SMB3's world 5 tomorrow.
