Nope, everyone gets full experience in ToS1 as well. You can trust me on that, I played the hell out of that game. The only time a character ever falls behind is when they're absent from the party for a prolonged period of time (which is most apparent with Presea and Colette about midway through Tethe'alla, as they miss out on several entire dungeons). There's also Raine early on in a 10x experience game, since she comes at level 7 in Triet no matter whether you're level 7 or 21. The Tethe'allans don't have that problem, though.

OK, ignore everything I said about experience, then. I clearly have no idea what I'm talking about. I just remember certain unused characters in ToS1 falling behind in levels when they were out of the active party for long periods of time, so I just assumed it had something to do with that.

Colette has an EX Skill that increases experience for all the members of your active party, but not the others. Maybe that was it? Nah, that would imply actually using Colette, and no sane person would do that.

Edit: So I've heard that sometimes, even after doing the quests to unlock the Twilight Palace (where have I seen that name before? ;) ) in chapers 5, 6 and 7, sometimes the one in chapter 8 doesn't appear. Wassupwitdat?

It's... Well, to be honest, I've never completed the quest. I've heard conflicting stories, but the general consensus seems to be that you should just try and complete quests as soon as you get into chapter 8 until you find the one you're looking for. If it doesn't appear, check back until it hopefully does.

And actually, I've heard that Colette is perhaps the most broken character in ToS1, thanks to Para Ball. I don't use her because I don't like her character or her playstyle, but she's supposed to be quite good.

Even with Para Ball, I always go nowhere with her, other than in the Coliseum. For someone like me, a good ol' Lloyd/Raine/Presea/Zelos party is the way to go.

I take it the Synch stat is the chance of the synch kicking in whenever one of the conditions are met, right? Would it be worth it to insist on having something like Rest of the Spirit on a Ghost then? I've seen someone say that synch amounted to nearly unlimited TP with a high enough Synch stat.

And what is it with garudas kicking my ass all over the place in every game I meet them in, anyway? In FF3 I had to grind so damn much, the game was a breeze for a long time afterwards. And now this. To be fair, there's one thing I haven't tried, and that is sticking Colette in my party. She's two levels higher than Emil and Marta ATM, so it might actually work.

Oh, and FF5 just came in the mail. So many games, so little time...

What version of FF5 would that be, Slow?

You're right about the synchs, and things like Rest of the Spirit can be broken if they are activated often enough, which tends to be the case.

I found two Bears with Halo of Life tonight! I'm going to evolve one into a Galf Beast, and the other into a Wolf Heddin. I'm also on the lookout for a Ghost with Rest of the Spirit (to evolve into a Ravenous), and later on I'm planning on grabbing a Lamia for evolving into a Ruby Dear. For battling purposes! Honest! It's supposedly one of the best monsters in the game, really!

Edit: The Pokémon Company announced on Twitter in thinly veiled words that there's going to be a generation 5. Duh? But at least it's good to know it's coming, even if it's going to be in a few years.

4th, 5th, and 6th stage Rhyperior evolutions. BELIEVE IT.

Oh, and Dusknoir. Can't forget Dusknoir.

Fearing that Pokemon are learning too many moves, GameFreak tests movepool reduction before a third version is released by using Flareon as a guinea pig. It no longer has Egg Moves or any attack over 60 base power.

An oversight will also remove the "1" from Flareon's base attack.

Edit: Oh, and I originally came here to bitch that I spent 4.2 million coins in Rumble the other night, foolishly believing that would be enough to put a number of good moves on several pokes. HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA! I am an idiot. What I DID do is put Thunder on a Magnezone and Palkia, and Dragon Claw and Earthquake on a Garchomp. That was generous enough for the RNG to give me absolute shit for the remaining uses. Sky Attack on Moltres?! You greedy bastard, Repto! Be happy with what you got!

I spent the remainder of my play session trying in vain to beat EX Mewtwo. I've gotten him to appear several times, but I just can't take him down before getting offed. He hits me, and more often than not, I die. Once, I managed to get in many hits, but ran out of time. The SOB is even able to OHKO Darkrai.

Rereading my post, I remembered that the "Flareon has no egg moves" applies to Eevee and not it >_>

Still no luck finding a RotS Ghost. The fact that it's Ice-elemental (WTF?!?) doesn't help when it comes to recruiting one, since I don't have Ice monsters.

Edit: Still no luck. I pity those who look for BOTH a synch and a nickname, though, because one of my bears has the horrid name of Quenstedite.

Hey Slow, I think you should do a LP of some games from the Shin Megami Tensei series. I figured since you like the Tales Of series, you might like the Shin Megami Tensei series as well.

Keep trying for the RotS ghost, it's worth it. On the topic of nicknames, my Sword Dancer is named Marie. Marie. Still a great monster, (it's based off of the inferior Tale of the Abyss Sword Dancer, though.) but seriously.

Actually, I tried Phantasia, didn't like it that much. I have no clue why.

But if that series you mention is similar to Tales, those games fall under the category of games I'll never LP.

Pokémon is already borderline as it is, the reason why I'm doing that series is because there's always something worth talking about.

RPGs aren't LP-friendly. In fact, by the official 'LP rules', Slowflake's doing it all wrong. Not editing out random battles is bad, and actually fighting them is worse. Of course, it doesn't matter, because Slowflake keeps it very entertaining. Still one of the best LPers, in my opinion, even if he disobeys so many 'rules'.
