Are you ever doing a video on pokemon colloseum? (might have butchered the spelling, don't care right now) lt's pretty much the only pokemon game l've had trouble with, and only because of a few major wtf's l experienced.

Find me a Gamecube emulator that can be run on a computer that's several years old, then we'll talk.

Considering even some of the newer computers still have problems with N64 games, I'd say... 5 years, or whenever Slowflake temporarily finishes pokemon games (cause you've done all the current ones): Whichever comes first.

Except Colosseum is well established as a shitty game. Sure, Slowflake has LPed "bad" games before (namely the Sonic GGs) except those were brief and had constant action.

To make things worse, Colosseum is notorious for having a generally horrendous selection of pokes to "choose" from, and purification is fucking ass.

Even if there was a good GC emulator I'd have to think he were on crack to LP it.

l might be used to crappy games, but l think of it as "a challenge" l mean, xd doesn't suck ass, but l literally beat it with an umbreon and ledian in their mid 60's. A lot of people have trouble on colosseum, and l personally think that since l assume if slowflake has beaten it before, he can beat it again and we can watch and learn. Besides, playing a shitty game and watching someone else playing a shitty game are, in my opinion, entirely different matters. You like it when slowflake nerdrages more than anyone else. lt should also be entertaining with a long (if not slightly less than complex) story.

It depends on why the game is shitty. Sonic isn't BORING shitty.

There's also really nothing to learn; you say you beat XD with an Umbreon and Ledian; there's nothing stopping you from doing the same exact thing with Colosseum. It's just much more tedious, grinding is more annoying, and you have to be much more picky with what you choose to use. There's no reason to LP Colosseum instead of XD, and because there's no way for him to even do it, the subject should be dropped.

It's not really the nerdraging I like per se, but when he's doing badly, he's more likely to give highly animated commentary. I really like that he gives the "news" during Pokemon vids, since they keep me from having to browse Serebii and Smogon, but everyone likes that. Since I went through a phase of habitually watching AVGN, though, I can still use a fix of drama, and Slow provides it. Most of his commentators bring up mundane shit but I'm sure they approve of his drama also.

Part 111! Any chance of drama that could've happened vanished the instant I nailed that Rock Slide through a DT.

It's not THAT bad of a game, though. If a reliable gamecube emulator ever comes out (a pipe dream currently, but in the future...), then Colosseum is a good choice.

As it stands, I wouldn't mind if Slowflake did Pokemon Stadium with the fellows from Red.

Not with XD around, it isn't. The poke selection is indisputably drastically better than Colo, even aside from the fact that it includes a ton of 1st gen pokemon with better BSTs and movepools. Purification isn't so awful that Slow has to edit out large chunks of video and the story is a (lol) improvement over the first.

XD can at some length be considered a decent, if not good, game.

You play pokemon games for the story? Sereously? Jeez, I play pokemon games for any reason BUT story.

Also, the limits went a long ways into making Colosseum one of the hardest pokemon games ever. Sure, you can't use much: but hey, they WANT you to suffer in that game. You start with Espeon, get a bunch of nimwit pokemon (Johto starters, Hariama, Noctowl, MAGCARGO, Yanma... I could go on) while getting little in return (Early game good pokemon? Hope you like Altaria. And Octillery [who is limited even more])

But, that would make for an interesting playthrough, nonetheless.

I don't play them for the story. Fold mentioned it, so I meant it as a counterpoint.

Also, what you described is not difficulty, but a wholly shitty and uninteresting roster. RPGs like this, especially ones like this, do not have a single challenge that can't be overcome with a higher number than the opponent, and achieving that is not hard. It's just tedious.

Colosseum is challenging in the same way that pacifist Mario Bros is challenging- you make it that way for yourself.

l can think of quite a few games that have bosses that take hella long time to beat, one of the final bosses in a final fantasy in particular, and yet they're undisputebly great games, even though a lot of people stop playing at the mention of that retarded boss. lt, to me, shows that games are what you make of them, so a carefully done colloseum runthrough seems to me (and probably mattman), ten times better than a perfectly done XD, not because it's a better game (we all know it's not) but because it's an extremely tedious and unbalanced game.

(or he could do them both lol)

Would you rather watch him LP Superman 64 instead of Super Mario 64?

No offense, but I find that logic pretty retarded. If you want to watch someone play shitty games because they're shitty, watch AVGN or an imitator.

God that's annoying >< you say no offense because you know the thing you said was meant to offend, not because you don't want it to mean offense. Say mine's retarded because you ran out of not redundent things to say, and hastily put in an exaggerated comparison so you can try to say you had it backed up by something. Lets just agree to disagree that colloseum is shitty, and that if, in several years a gamecube emulator is out and not laggy, that slowflake (if still doing this) should lp both.

It's like apologizing when you step on someone's foot. It's not going to change the fact that their foot now hurts and they're probably angry, but it's even worse to just pretend you didn't just step on their foot. Just because people aren't always going to be receptive to courtesy is no reason to just avoid it. When someone uses "no offense" before a remark that's all but guaranteed to offend, it's because they're not saying it out of malice.

The whole "SAYING NO OFFENSE IS ASININE!!!!!!" is just another thing for people to bitch about nowadays, since we all know the US is all about crying over everything and hypersensitivity. Of course everything must be an intentional slight against somebody or something, which is why all forms of tact are nothing but meager ruses to try and mask the fact that they really hate you. If it's not sugarcoated, it's not polite!!

If I agreed that he should LP both, I doubt I'd have brought it up in the first place. =P If I've said aything redundant, it's because you never provided anything that couldn't be countered with the same exact point. Your argument then boiled down to "he SHOULD LP it BECAUSE it's so bad" the logic behind which IS retarded.

If you need to say no offense, then don't say it :P. lt's like purposefully stepping on someone's foot, then saying "it's because your ugly"

Except that's not how tact works, and if I think someone is retarded and want to call them on their retardation outright, then I'll do so.

When I correct Slowflake, it's not IMPERATIVE that I say "if I may humbly correct you" and he may very well assume I'm just nitpicking at his speech and be annoyed anyway, but I'm not trying to get on his ass and it's all but guaranteed that he be put on the defensive if I just say "lol, thats not how you say mach"

That said, since he's not an American an with uptight and whiny American personality, I doubt he'd snap at me just for casually remarking that a word is pronounced a certain way. After all, I'm not insulting his intelligence. Though I would be.. IN AMERICA!

What a delightfully perfect lead-up to a haxy clash with the Lightning American!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRk65IhDZPo&fmt=18

But yeah, after openly saying I went into this hoping to improve my English (learned to pronounce Mach, azalea and paralysis properly among others), it would be hypocritical to chew someone out for correcting me.

Also, take a look at this:

Because the fabric of space would be torn apart if there was such a thing as a #1 in anything related to soccer.
