Yeah, it had Fly, and I think it even used it, but you can't get better than fuckin' Hyper Beam.

I wish Pokesav included the names that corresponded to the region you opt them to be created in. I gotta admit, I like a lot of the French and German names, some even more than their English counterparts, but it's probably the novelty that comes with their being so different. Lamantine, Sherox, Rafflesia, Brutalanda, to name a few that I can recall.

I wish the GTS allowed you to search any region and not just your own location when looking for videos, since unless you looked on bulbapedia, the next best way to see them is to search for Battle Factory vids and hope to get a lot of hits that aren't from the UK, Italy, or Spain. (Yeah, it basically has to be the Factory, if you want to see a diversity in pokes. French and German gamers all like sticking with high tiers for the most part, also.)

Speaking of which, I wanted to ask you something, Slow- are games over there localised with the French in mind, or are they all no different from the NA versions?

Here in Quebec, the games themselves are no different from everywhere else in NA - unilingual English in most cases, though some allow for various languages. In Europe, though, there's a different version in every country - German in Germany, French in France, Spanish in Spain, and so on.

As for foreign names, that novelty factor is probably the reason why I like the English names more than the French ones. Not that English names are much novelty, since as I said we have unilingual English games, but rather the fact that English is my second language. Everything in games sounds so much cooler in English.

I'd like to share a humorous tale of blatant, broken luck, normally reserved only for the CPU.

While messing around with random pokes, I find myself in a double battle against what would end up being four electric types- Electivire, Luxray, Raichu, and Jolteon. A shitty team, sure, but when you look at my own lineup of Staraptor, Snorlax, Azumarill, and Cloyster, all of a sudden they become kind of threatening. Being able to easily pick off three of my pokes and leaving my Lax there to take hits by himself is an issue.

What's more, the opening begins with my Staraptor and Snorlax being Intimidated. The situation is a hair above bleak, is it not?

Not if my bitter enemy RNG has anything to say about it!

Obviously in an attempt to fool me into thinking he's changed sides, RNG not only sets off Snorlax's Quick Claw, but makes EQ crit both Vire and Luxray for OHKOs. U-Turn fails, since there's no living target. I roll my eyes and tell RNG I'm not that gullible, who smirks and mirrors the previous turn, setting off the Claw and critting the remaining two for OHKOs.

Of course he was yanking my chain, because the following battle I wasted over 12 turns missing a Skarmory with only one Double Team under its belt. I did win, though it's probably because the RNG got bored.

...that's Volkner's Platinum lineup, isn't it?
