Part 85 is ready, but YouTube is being an ass and won't let me record it. Too bad, there's a nice facepalm moment in there. No screaming, just me feeling stupid for forgetting something I should've remembered.

As for Scribblenauts, as I'm going through it, I'm realizing where all those complaints come from, but that doesn't really mean I agree with them (aside from the controls reminding me too much of those of Sonic 3D Blast - MOVES WAY TOO FAST). You don't play it like you play any other game, and if you've been playing games for any length of time it's hard to do that. With that being said, it helps that I'm an immature little ****. Trick or treat? How about a PIRANHA... wait did the Starite just appear? (Yes, it works, for real. Give the kids a piranha, and they're happy.) Have to wake up someone? Rocket launcher to the ceiling!

A major culprit, I think, is the money system. Sure, buying unlockables is a good idea in any other game, but not here. Here it just pressures you into solving the puzzles as quickly as possible, and taking the easy way out every time. That's what I think, anyway.

So I can see where people are coming from when they say it's not the right game for them. It just so happens that it's the right game for me. Then again, I'm one of like five people in the entire world who liked Sonic Heroes, so take that with a grain of salt.

Edit: Okay, part 85, with 100% less Suicune than what was expected!

Edit 2: Next video up!

Unless something happens, the next one should be a long overdue return to S3DB.

Good stuff, since those vids have more going for them than your entertaining commentary (who doesn't like it when games give their LPers grief?)

I'd have to rewatch them all to be sure, but I think you've screamed more within 8-9 Sonic vids than you have within your entire Crystal run thus far.

Panic Puppet brings back a lot of bad memories. The only reason I don't loathe that place is because the soundtrack for the Saturn version was awesome.

I do think you were a bit rough on the game, though. I mean, would you have LPed it otherwise? The GG games were much worse IMO, so unless you were pulling a sort of AVGN in playing bad games, you at least hold them in high enough regard to beat them entirely.

The camera, yeah, that could be a real pain in the ass. The controls on the other hand, I thought were just fine. Considering I beat this game entirely myself when I was 13 and really, really sucked at most games at the time, they couldn't have been bad.

If anything pissed me off, it was those frigging red flickies. I dreaded enemies that dropped them, because if the area had even a moderate number of hazards it was easy to have them get sniped as they trailed behind you and they were a bitch to get back.

When I decided to LP it, I held it in higher regard than I do now, as I mentioned a few times.

It's not a bad game, it's just flooded with flaws that, when stacked on top of each other, can make for an annoying experience.

Edit: Back to Pokémon, and this marks the beginning of year two of these LPs!

I myself bought a game today that has been highly chastised, and unlike the (seemingly) mass number of irate, insulted fans, I love the game. Bubble Bobble Plus, that is. WiiWare.

It helps that this is my first BB game, so I don't exactly know why I should think it's a half-assed POS. It didn't feel like it.

If anyone got their complimentary Shaymin, I'd like to know if you faced any clear anomalies. Maybe it was just on this one copy, but that certainly was a strange story.

I'd test it for you if I could, but I hacked the Oak's Letter event to occur not long after I had Platinum, not because I wanted the Shaymin, but I wanted the Seabreak Path for step grinding (for the furniture reward, not egg hatching.)

I don't want to see what happens when the game tries putting the letter on my cart and finds that it's there with no wonder card data.

Yeah, that's not something I'd like to experiment with either. BTW, how's that Jirachi coming along?

Ahhh, I see where some wires got crossed.
I finally got my new AR, so I can create that poke for you soon.

If I recall correctly, your brother owns a Wii and takes it with him when he returns to wherever, so you don't get to play it much, correct?

I got my own now, so that's not an issue anymore.
I incorrectly took that to mean you had gotten your own AR and could whip up your own pokes, so I simply never bothered to make the thing. I can do that right away, though.

Speaking of Platinum, I'm having a hell of a time trying to find someone that not only wants to do Multi Battle Tower runs, but also knows what the hell they are and how to handle them. Apart from one other personal friend that meets both criteria, I've made requests on Gfaqs and the only responses I got from people that were eager to play not only had atrocious connections that dropped during the first battle (after moving at the speed of molasses in Canada) but they had "never done it before."

I don't think one guy even knew much about stats since he didn't want me to use my Porygon2, saying Clefable was a better wall.

Unfortunately everyone that seems to give a rat's ass about battling either plays a simulator or only wants to do 6 on 6.

Oops, that's entirely my fault. My bad.

As for the Clefable comment... haha. Just because it's the only Pokémon that's immune to entry hazards, and laughs at poison, burns, Leech Seed and recoil, doesn't mean it's any better against direct damage. With that being said, I'm not sure how Porygon2 would fare in the Battle Tower either, considering its big asset is using Trace to make many big threats cry for mommy, and not all of those Pokémon are going to be as overly abundant in the BT as on Shoddy... don't get me wrong, Porygon2's not a bad mixed wall by any means, it's just that I'm not entirely sold on it in that kind of environment.

I have that Jirachi ready whenever you are.

It was more that he didn't think Porygon2 was bulky, period. While you're right in that the things it puts in check with Trace aren't as abundant, Trace is still ridiculously useful and P2 is still a pain in the ass to kill without fighting moves. Being a rabid fan of the Porygon line, I may come off as exaggerating, but it also means I have to play the thing to its strengths if I'm going to get any use out of it, and it still manages to do it well in a place like the BT.

Part 90: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OXjcjTOs1s&fmt=18

As for the Jirachi... is Tuesday, 8 PM Eastern fine? I already got you in my Pal Pad, but if you deleted me since the last time my FC's 5154-9419-6059. I assume you want some random Pokémon and not my Japanese-named Jirachi as well?

Yeah, I'll take whatever. Anything I want for myself I just hack, and if it's an event I look up the specs.

Tuesday, 8PM EST.. works for me.

For what it's worth, Wobby, Garchomp and Lati@s being allowed isn't particularly noteworthy or alarming, considering they've never been banned before, and of course Nintendo isn't going to give a flying fuck what Smogon or any competitive community does.

That's true, but them being allowed would be yet another point of centralization nonetheless. Among top-level players, that is, you're still going to be seeing Charizards with four fire moves in there.

That reminds me, I had wanted to post a comment on the vid in which you mention the rules, that perhaps a "fat kid with Hyper Beam-using ubers" would win the tournament again and be hyped as a skilled battler, but had forgotten.

I can see it happening. Hyper Beam Rayquaza. BELIEVE.
