I've decided I'm going to hack my game if it turns out that they've closed off 4th gen evolutions AND have not drastically revamped locations for Johto (meaning stuff that did not suck in 2nd gen must not be unobtainable until Kanto, such as Houndour and Larvitar.)
The reasoning is simple. The Johto dex has an abundance of 1st gen guys that I could already get my fill of by playing Fire Red, and my incentive to play HGSS legitimately is the prospect of being able to evolve the numerous horrendously bad or mediocre sacks of meat that made up the vast majority of the 2nd gen additions.
I love Lapras and Dragonite and the like, but I don't want to have to use those things again because I have shit like Piloswine and Togetic as my other options. I can easily cope with being unable to have a Togekiss because of the lack of a Shiny Stone, but Yanmega? Weak. I plan on having one and taking the time to level it up, unless of course that turns out to be impossible, in which case one will magically appear in my PC and the problem will be moot.
This'll also give me a bit of persuasion to do the same for a Magnezone, since I haven't used one ingame (again, there not being a Mt Coronet doesn't bother me, but if I'm going to hack, I'm not settling for an Ampharos.)
Well, there's this one theory I mentioned in the LP where the Mystery Five are the five that can evolve when they know certain moves. And if they're not closing off THESE evolutions, it would be a crime, a CRIME, you hear me? to block the rest.
As for Magnezone, Probopass, Leafeon and Glaceon, they'll either have substitute locations for evolutions, or they'll introduce the items that evolved them in MD2 in the main series.
Oh, and if it turns out the likes of Houndour and Larvitar aren't obtainable before Kanto despite being in the Johto Dex, I can always breed you some. Unless, of course, trading to DPP is closed off until later in the game. (I'm under the impression that it could be the case, and the event with Bill at Ecruteak is what would unlock it.) Just be careful with the 600ers, as you might have to grind for hours to get them to their final stage before the E4. Especially if the level curve isn't fixed.
Yeah, there's that part of it, too. I used a Dratini in G/S and it was unbelievably mind-numbingly dull to level it up.
I don't necessarily WANT a Houdoom, but for a 2nd gen fire type you can do much, much worse. Thinking of ingame it's actually pretty decent, though not learning Dark Pulse leveling up does suck. I brought it up because there are enough decent guys that I'd settle for if I could catch them before I'm too far in. Heracross and Scizor (I used them in Diamond/Platinum respectively, but eh, they get a pass because they fucking own and dominate the rankings on their types) are great, though choosing one would depend on everyone else, plus Houndoom and Tyranitar as mentioned before. Feraligatr will be my starter, no deliberation on that.
If Lickilicky isn't possible, I'm not sure what I'd do about a normal. They're my favorite type, so I pretty much always have one.
I got the impression you don't automatically block someone requesting a plug or trying to get you to watch their videos, which is suprising considering it obviously annoys you as much as it does me. Not only do I not respond to those people I block them immediately, as I find it incredibly self-centered to ask someone to hype his or her work in their own, and conceited to do both that and send someone his or her own videos.
Perhaps it doesn't annoy you as much, because I also don't respond to friend invites (and block those who ask me to accept.)
Since I'm open to requests, though, I invite a lot of boring ones so rather than block people I politely decline each one (unless they post it in multiple vids. I no longer have my comments box up because some tards have taken to whining in them.)
Seems like you have an even lower level of tolerance for stupidity than me, which I thought impossible. But, if it makes you feel better, I blocked subscriber #600 for sending me a PM bragging about it. He's gonna have a nasty surprise the next time he's trying to get to my channel.
That made me laugh. It'd be even funnier if you didn't respond to the guy, but simply blocked them.
Considering I don't do LPs I don't get asked to plug someone else, but I do get many PMs asking me to watch and rate their own videos, particularly those trying to do the same thing as me. I don't block or delete people that post them as responses to my video, though, since if the general browser is anything like me, they almost never even look at the responses box, let alone watch one.
I haven't gotten accused of cheating in a very long time, which might be because of my profile message, but before that I was getting them all the time. I expected it at first since a lot of people don't know what TAS means, then it picked up enough to really get on my nerves.
The only other frequent message I get is asking how I record things, which I don't mind answering so long as they don't ask me to send it to them.
Do you know if blocking prevents someone from also rating your vids? I would expect the types that give people shit to want to spite them by doing so, but I haven't noticed anything like that.
For that matter, not having been blocked I didn't know you couldn't read someone's channel stuff. I figured it just stopped them from messaging or commenting on your vids/channel.
No need to, as it seems I'm not even close to making a new video. One of my uncles was in town today, and he's going through a rough time, so as you can guess I paid him a visit after work. Which I once again got off of at 7 PM. Then tomorrow night I've got something planned, so nothing before Friday barring a miracle.
FYI, the personality trait and food preference aren't something you implement yourself. They're just automatically done by the IVs and nature. The second digit of the highest IV determines the trait (in this case the 0 in SpAtt) and the food preference is determined directly by the nature. Neutral natures are "Happily eats anything."
Also, having watched your Sonic vids, no wonder you think the 5th boss is so hard! You go about it in the most unnecessarily difficult way possible!
I'm aware of that, I just thought maybe it was possible to hack a Pokémon in such a way that the IVs and personality don't match.
And if I'm supposed to beat that boss by jumping on the pipes and heading diagonally from there - tried that a million times, and most of the time the lava is where I end up, and I'm still nowhere near Eggman with no rings left.
