Well, if it centralizes UU it'll be sent to BL, though that doesn't mean a whole lot since there are like five or six of them right now. The tiers' meaning is going to be better once the revamp is complete, but right now the only accurate limit is that between uber and OU. Once stage 3 is complete, anyway.
I said in the video I'm pretty sure I don't need it, but I still want to see what I can nail on it, just for fun and out of curiosity. That and the Diablo-related answer I put on YouTube. Amazon's one of my favorite classes, and she's got so many cool skills that require herding massive amounts of cows to get the most out of said skills, even though it's more overkill than really necessary (sound familiar?). Of course, if you never played the game you wouldn't understand.
Not really. I've watched my cousin play either the first or second, and he let me take over for a minute or two (I wandered into a cave entrance of some sort in the middle of a field and got killed promptly) but other than that, I don't know jack about any game in the series.
Bill's Eevee always becomes an Espeon in my playthroughs, because it gets Bite :D
Also, the strategy guide I got with my Crystal copy recommends Quick Claw on everything. And it's also largely inconsistent with the facts you pointed out, so thank you Slowflake. My book is so annotated I might as well have written it myself.
Unfortunately, it wasn't a very busy marathon, to be honest. Seems like the charity thing gets a lot more viewers in... oh, and let's not forget the unending cutscenes, which diluted the gameplay more than random battles and grinding ever could. The fun was in the chat, as usual... one guy pointed out how Fortune succeeded where Groudon and Rayquaza failed (the latter several times) by utterly annihilating that level 6 Wingull, that got a good laugh out of me.
The good news is that they ARE planning a second Pokéthon the weekend before Christmas, possibly with moonspeak HGSS. They seem pretty sure they'll be able to catch 'em all this time around... depends on how Lady Luck feels that particular weekend. If it takes six hours to get to and catch Rayquaza again, it's going to be a rough ride.

Finished watching 41, I'll have to catch up later.
While it wouldn't bother me TOO much if the ingame trainers didn't use later gen pokes, I'll be extremely annoyed and disappointed if they also block them from evolving just to maintain the nostalgia. Ignoring the fact that the ingame trainers not doing so might as well be a sure sign that they indeed will not evolve.
Just watched your most recent 3D Blast vid, and if that were me playing that boss fight, I'd probably have stopped filming and turned off the game in disgust. Many an honest MMX3 runs were unnecessarily killed a half hour in, just because I was just so displeased by how pathetic my playing looked at that point.
You share my pain however. Nothing like a gross number of mistakes in an area you never would have considered difficult.
IIRC you haven't played that game, but let me tell you, if getting on those hands was hard, imagine doing such precise jumping while you have fire snakes chasing you all over the place. And if you miss the jump, in the lava you go. That is the Volcano Valley boss. To quote AVGN, it's like playing Operation, only with a bunch of stuff running around trying to kill you.
Next up... Lapras!

Also, I'm not planning on coming back to Crystal before the marathon, so I'm going to drop this one piece of news I'll be sure to mention when I do come back to it: Notched-Ear Pichu is unable to evolve. How's that for a slap in the face?
Yeah. Pain Split off a BST of 205, one third of which is in defenses. Clearly we're witnessing the rise of the metagame's next major powerhouse!
Random thought: You know what'd be an even bigger slap in the face? That HGSS brings back Extremespeed Dratini... except instead of a Dratini it's a Bagon. Just imagine the riot...
