Damnit, I've missed the last four since you've just made edits. Ah well.

I originally popped in to say that Cherrim teams are an awful lot of fun (leading with Groudon beside it of course.) Which is a bit of a surprise since Cherrim has Helping Hand, Solarbeam, and jack shit else it can do to make itself useful. But those two moves alone are enough to tear shit up while Groudon does much worse.

The attack boost of Flower Gift isn't heavily apparent until you use moves like Fake Out and are taken aback by how much they hurt, but it's definitely there. Flower Gift seems like it was made for Groudon since the odd Att/SDef boost is almost perfectly tailored to his best stat and the stat that needs the most work. It made killing a Kyogre less of a hassle.

Of course the fun doesn't stop there. Last Resort Ambipom is sick with Flower Gift, and my personal favorite, CB Absol with Sucker Punch, who OHKOed a tank-oriented Lugia after Helping Hand. Ambipom has nothing to do against a Dialga but Abby easily OHKOs it with a Gifted Superpower.

I had a Focus Sash on it, but it almost never got used due to the Asshole Factor, which compels people to target ubers or whichever bigger threat exists first. Hence, the asshole. With FG Groudon has too much meat to go down quickly, at least when using a somewhat bulky spread, which I do.

If it weren't for the fact that I prefer Drizzle teams and they have far more options, I'd say this was more fun in Ubers.

Yeah, I'm aware that Cherrim was most likely made specifically for Groudon, but I'm still not sure... I mean, if I saw the two paired together, Cherrim would definitely be my primary target, screw the Asshole Factor. In fact, I'd say it's flat-out stupid not to go after Cherrim first. A fairly easy kill and the weakening of its teammate? What's not to like?

Oh, Ken's Labyrinth part 15 is also up...

I think their logic behind it is, if they go after Cherrim it doesn't stop them from being messed up by Groudon. Flower Gift or not it doesn't make base 150 attack any less threatening.

On top of which I almost always Protect with Cherrim first thing for that exact reason (well, that and Earthquake.)

Good point there.

Now to shill something else... this is something my brother just showed me.

WE GO FOR GOD! Nope, got that one too.

Srsly, where do they go after that? It's like they've written themselves into a black hole.

Which makes me all the more curious to see what movie 12 is about.

On another note, I got a few things to say on the grocery list of legendary themes explored in that "WE GO FOR GOD" skit... but I'm gonna keep that for the LP.

Speaking of that thing, I found the erotic Poke models rather disturbing, mainly because they remind me of both furries and Rule34, both of which extremely disturbing.

A statement I voice my agreement to in part 56, incidentally.

Shame, because without that skit this would end up somewhere in my list of "best things to ever hit the internet".

On top of that the guy had to have two separate scenes with it.

Chances are he gets off to that sort of thing. I dunno how the fuck else you imagine it, let alone draw it.

Next up is the Safari Zone... I'll probably do it this weekend, but all in one shot, so expect two or maybe even three videos at the same time.

Just to let you know I was way off when it comes to the cause of the killer rain glitch. I updated the movie description to reflect that, and I'll come back on it while I'm exploring the Power Plant (edit: or rather, visiting the Fuchsia gym, because I need the badge to be able to surf to the Power Plant).

On a whim, and due to a smidge of boredom, I fired up Pokesav and I can mention a few things:

1. PBR's strict hack filter allows Platinum moves to be used on Diamond/Pearl region Pokes.
2. Other gamers, particularly the Japanese, are alrady aware of this fact. Fought a Heat Waving Crobat.
3. Choice Scarf Trick Jirachi owns hard.

Everyone already knows Bullet Punch Scizor owns, but man Trick Jirachi is evil. Ended up making a little bitch forfeit the match after I screwed him over. Killed Crobat, got burned by Dusknoir, switch to Scizor to bait another one, back to Jirachi who Tricks while Dusknoir uses Shadow Sneak, which apparently did not get choiced as the effect occurs only once you've attacked after the swap.

I took his Lum Berry and Jirachi used it, he tries to Will-O again, misses, and with that choiced I send in Heatran and he thinks "fuck this" and leaves.

Edit: Just felt like adding that I had the delight of doing the same to an uber-using faggot. I love it when people see a mono-steel team and think "LAWL EARTHQUAKE SWEEP" or that leading with Infernape or a water guy is akin to GG. They're the easiest people to outpredict into a OHKO.

Edit: I'm assuming you already know that apparently US gamers are going to have the opportunity to get themselves a legit Shaymin, and are going to mention it at one point. If this is true, they'll probably follow suit with that special flower and allow us to get it also.

Well, duh - it would be the worst marketing move ever to make the Gracidea Flower Japan-only. Especially since they bothered translating the flower's name and all. It's clear that this event is the American sister event to the Japanese movie event that activated the flower.

By the way, does the PBR filter accept event-only moves, like Yawn Pikachu (in this particular case once the event actually occurs, that is)?

Yep, it does- and the filter is smart enough to know illegal move combinations, namely mixing egg moves with event-only moves. One is okay, but not both.

It also knew when an event wasn't supposed to be shiny, as I've had a Celebi rejected solely for that reason. Rehacked it minus the shinyness and it got online without incidence.

Kudos to them for updating the server for that, though. The last time they did that was way back for Darkrai.

Well, this proves someone at Nintendo knows their stuff, at least. Now, if that person could also design stats and movepools, we'd be in business.

I wanted to do the Safari Zone yesterday, but I fell sick in the afternoon, so it'll have to wait.

Edit: Prepare for trouble!

Make it double!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwcyB-8Ucwo

Edit 2: I thought I edited this post to give the link to part 60... guess not.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5ToZocSwe0

Also, it's confirmed that the event Shaymin will unlock the Gracidea Flower, and there's also going to be the same event Regigigas as in Japan. Which, this time around, is nothing special, since the new moves it had in the Japanese event, Iron Head and Icy Wind, are now move tutors in Platinum. That Regigigas DOES give access to the Regis in Platinum, though.

Edit 3: Ken's Labyrinth part 16!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LZUdUFEl1M

Edit 4: Part 17, where I get out of the hole I dug myself into in part 16 in admirable fashion.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Y3nCvdmKN4

Edit 5: Part 18 is now up!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tcTCcHg7h8

Now, I'm not planning to come back to Pokémon Red until I get out of this level... yeah, I'm not a fan of leaving myself in suspense, much less anyone who's watching.

Edit 6: I don't know who owns the LibelldraForgeMovies account on YouTube, but he reminded me, the Ken videos may have shoddy quality at times due to the YouTube compression. In order to make the problem a bit less apparent, just add &fmt=18 at the end of the video URL. I'll make sure to mention this in part 19 for the visitors that don't come from Libelldra, or are subscribed to my channel so they don't need to go through this thread to find the movies, or whatever. Shame that I was reminded of this only this late in the game. Well, from a level point of view anyway, because this LP will probably be about 40-50 videos long once it's done.

Edit 7: Part 19!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guR1MVDmgj8

Next one's gonna be Pokémon, I promise. I just wanted to get that mind-numbing level out of the way ASAP, really.

I still watch the KL vids despite not really knowing what's going on, since you tend to give some funny commentary.

This is a poorly diguised bump so I don't have to keep checking the board and topic itself for edited posts.

Well, that's what happens when you've never played the game. If you've ever played a similar one, like Wolfenstein 3D, then you might still have a better grasp of what's happening than if you weren't familiar with that family of shooters at all.

On another subject entirely... I just did the Antiquity Dimensional Vortex, and all I have to say is, why was the Frozen Cliffs music not used in the original? Best tune in the game by far, and I consider CT to have one of the best soundtracks out there.

As for the Spellslinger... there's a brand new FAQ on GameFAQs that gives its damage formula, and what it boils down to is that it's the same formula as the Crisis Arm... except the damage is QUADRUPLED afterwards! If this isn't an admission that Lucca was horribly flawed from the beginning, I don't know what is.

So let's check out just how effective it'd be on my level 61 Lucca, k? Accuracy is 33, so attack power is 22. Assuming MP ends in 9, 22 * 9 * 4 = 792 damage, plus the random number. That's right, still considerably weaker than the Crisis Arm, even though the Spellslinger has quadruple damage. However, MP's much easier to keep at max than HP is, if that means anything.

Now, compared to the Wondershot. Accuracy still 33, weapon power 250. (250 + 33) * 2/3 = 188 attack, times 2 means regular damage is 376. To calculate the average base damage of the Wondershot, we multiply by 1.16 (don't ask), and the Wondershot's average base damage is 436.

Now, assuming a 99-accuracy Lucca... what do you mean this isn't possible? That's right, not only are there no accuracy tabs in this game (further dooming Marle and Lucca compared to the males and Ayla), but the Crimson Shade doesn't even boost Lucca's accuracy! Meanwhile, Marle's accuracy is increased by the Alabaster Shade, despite the fact that the Venus Bow makes it so SHE DOESN'T NEED ACCURACY TO BEGIN WITH! Stupid game designers.

So the maximum accuracy Lucca can reach is 49, which means Spellslinger damage reaches 1152, while the Wondershot only increases to 462. Meaning the higher your accuracy gets, the bigger the Spellslinger's advantage becomes. So here's to hoping that formula's accurate, because if it's really the same as the Crisis Arm then Spellslinger without crits or Prism Specs or anything doesn't even reach 300 at level 99. And I'll know whether that formula's accurate soon enough, since the Present vortex is up next.

Trust me, the Spellslinger WILL deal obscene damage. By all means give her a Prism Specs. I actually wrote GFAQ's guide for the Dimensional Vortex, heh.

As for the music, something of note is that apparently the "Singing Mountain" theme as it's better known as, was a sidequest in the Prehistoric that ended up being taken out of the original game before release. It contained both a grassy mountainous area and a lava-filled cave setting. No one knows much else about it, though the maps were ripped from the coding. Whether it was going to be a sidequest for Ayla during the Fated Hour or not, no one knows.

Still only have one Prism Specs though, and I'm keeping it on Crono. Once I get a second copy and Lucca's accuracy reaches a decent number, I may consider ditching Ayla in her favor, depending on how useful the Iron Fist turns out to be in comparison. For the time being, though, it's a no-no, because I'm in love with her... dual... techs. Yeah, dual techs. No, really, she's the best character in the game in that department, and Falcon Strike humiliated so many bosses, including Lavos' final form.
