ok, I've been running this set for a while on shoddy and it works a lot better than you'd expect:

Gallade "Bulky Galla"@Leftovers
Careful 236 HP, 42 Atk, 232 Def

Bulk Up
Taunt
Brick Break / Drain Punch
Shadow Sneak

This is Gallade trying to pull off a Bulky Gyarados set, and succeeding for the most part. 236 HP EVs put him at 336 HP, his highest lefties number, while 232 Def EVs let his Defense equal his HP after 1 bulk up. the rest of the EVs are dumped into attack. Careful nature bolsters his already good base 115 special defense, since its not getting any boosts.

The strategy is the same as with standard Tauntrados: taunt any potential stat booster or status inducer, then start to bulk up. I have been using this as a lead, as using taunt on first turn prevents bronzong and other suicide leads from statusing gallade or setting up SR/spikes, as most will expect Gallade to simply attack. This will either force a switch, giving you a free set up turn, or said suicide lead will either use an attack (which Gallade will likely be able to shrug off, regardless of which type it is), or just explode (which this Gallade has survived, believe it or not). Of course, if you sense an explosion, send in your ghost type, since no one like being blown up on. In either case, you have essentially stopped your opponent from SRing you, while you have Gallade ready to kick ass.

Brick Break is preferable to Close Combat for stat drop reasons, as this Gallade doesn't like switching out. Drain Punch can be used instead if healing is more important than power--both work equally well, so this is preference.

Shadow Sneak complements BB/DP, allowing you to hit everything for neutral. It also has the added perk of bypassing Gallade's crappy speed when you need to deal a quick blow. Of course, if you want more power, you can use Night Slash or Psycho Cut. Sure, they don't have complete coverage, but neither does Waterfall/Ice Fang, and you don't see Gyara losing much sleep...

Beware of Gengar, Gallade's number 1 counter, as it can status or cripple you with Shadow Ball (a modest life orb shadow ball fails to OHKO, even in sand and SR) before you can taunt or attack it. Also beware of (ironically) Tauntrados, as it can outspeed you with its 81 base speed and Taunt you before you can Taunt it. Also be on the look out for Psychics if using Psycho Cut.

It needs some more testing, but so far the results are very promising. So what do you think? Comments and questions are always welcome.

Thx, A
