As you may or may not have heard Toonami has been cancelled by Cartoon Network, with its finall airing last night (September 20, 2008). After eleven years of Tom showing us our favorite shows, he is finally gone. Now it may have been going down hill since 2003, but the fact of the matter is that our earliest memories of watching TV are on Toonami and of Tom back when he was a man in a suit and not a robot.

When we were young you can not deny the awesomeness of DBZ then Yu Yu Hakasho then Rurouni Kenshin followed up by Samurai Jack.

But all good things must come to end, and this represents the fact that the original fan base is growing up now and we are getting older. However we shall never forget original Toonami.

Tom's final Message

I can't even remember what Toonami's lineup is like now, I'm pretty sure it sucks. It sucked when they started showing Scooby Doo and shit like that...like wtf?

I swear to God, every time I watch that video it brings me closer to physically crying.

Toonami was the shit; it was our daily thing as kids around here.

Hell, we stopped playing outside, watched it, and then went back out if possible. Missing it was a crime.

It stated sucking when it was moved from weekdays to Saturdays, but I hung with ti as long as I could. It's sad to hear. Never did I see an attainable end to it.

RIP, Tom.

Meh, although the Naruto dub was pretty terrible, it gave me something to actually watch on TV occasionally. Now I won't watch TV at all.

[madden] Well you see this first sentence was a south park refrence then he wrote a a serious reference to the toonami thing in the second sentence and boom he spaced them out with the enter key[/madde]

I hoped that cleared it up

To be honest, I haven't watch Toonami in years, partly because of my lack of cable, partly because it just seemed to go downhill after awhile. Ah well, so it goes.

Also, I really love the Cowboy Bebop reference at the end.

MM9 takes me back to when I was 6 years old, playing MM2 when it was brand new. And sucking at MegaMan in general.

yeah, it makes sense that it would start going down hill, after all, no 10-year old is going to stay up till 10:30 to watch ben 10, bakugon, blue dragon, and scooby doo. I'm glad naruto is still on, but at the same time, I am depressed that I'll never get to see the final episode of samurai jack. Altogether, I'm going through the 5 stages of grief right now. I'm currently at the end of stage 3.
Guide to 5 stages of grief:
1. shock
2. anger
3. yearning
4. depression
5. acceptance

Wow that video was actually pretty sad <_<...at least until the end, when I thought he was going to kill himself. Something about him casually walking toward the edge just got me laughing. Anyway, I never really watched "Toonami", just the shows on it. If you know what I mean.

I still remember Toonami when he had the cool helmet and the fricking space ship. I think the last time I watched it was when they had that cool ass racing show called "IGPX" aka Immortal Grand Prix. Good shit. Good shit.
