Yes, yes, the Inheritance Cycle is full of clichés, etc. etc.

The series is still a fantastic read. A dozen or so pages in, I'll read more tomorrow. It's jumping right into the action this time, I can say that much.

Needless to say, I am happy about picking it up so early. I also snagged the first five volumes of the Death Note manga for some nice side-reading to partake in occasionally.

I'm slightly embarrassed to say that my reading material as of late has been limited to Pearls Before Swine treasury books and anti-conservative propaganda. I haven't read me a good (new) novel in ages. But then simultaneously my taste in literature is like my taste in food.. rather picky.

I can't wait to pick up Brisingr myself. Not because I thought the previous two parts were so amazing, but just because I wan't to finish this trilogy.

I thought the previous parts weren't SO bad. True, they're full of clichés, but part 1 was still a solid book. I did not like part 2 at all, though. Still, I hope part 3 at least manages to bring this trilogy with quite a lot of potential to an interesting finale.

I have to get it soon.

I'll get to Barnes & Noble eventually, if not, there's Christmas.

I loved the previous two, and that plot twist at the end of Eldest practically knocked me out of my chair. >_>

sorry guys, can't stand those books at all.
I knew something was up when I didn't even like the first in seventh grade, and after reading some articles on anti shurtugal, it's a ridiculous series.

The only reason why I'm considering to pick it up is just to see how it turns out. Or just have fun picking at it. You know, like watching the Sci Fi channel and their low budget movies.

Actually I've been considering picking up 1984 lately. How many people here have read it, it looks interesting.
EDIT: Also cmon Flounder, the plot twist really wasn't that unexpected...

It was for me.

>_>

I'm that into the series any more either, but I've wasted so much time on it, I'm not going to just stop right before the end.

I can't do it for any book series.

That's why I read Harry Potter 7, and *shudders* Pendragon 9. >_>

It's like pokemon. We've all wasted so much time on it, I can't just stop any more. >_>

I just picked it up, but I don't have time to read it yet. Also its been stated that this will be a 4 book series, not a trilogy, for those who don't know

Yup. The third book was reaching close to 2000 pages, supposedly, so Paolini decided to split it into a fourth part. Which means the fourth one should be over 1000 pages, if the information was correct. 748 pages in Brisingr.

I admit I didn't particularly like Eldest, either. It certainly wasn't as good as Eragon was.

I read the up through the second chapter, and take back what I said about them jumping right into the action.
*SPOILERS*

Eragon and Roran just spent an entire chapter, about 25 pages, talking about random stuff that wasn't really relevant, notably their love lives. >_>

That's interesting.

I didn't know Paolini decided to make this a 4 book series yet. Learn something new every day, eh?
