Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this kind of question, if not I apologize.

He's the thing:

I've got a Nintendo DS Lite, Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Emerald (bought off the internet)

Whenever I play Diamond without Emerald in the socket everything's fine
If I play Emerald with or without Diamond in the socket everything's fine too.
When I play Diamond WITH emerald in the socket (for transferring and Dongling) everything goes to hell. Diamond doesn't recognize the game in the main menu, and when I play emerald again the save game is corrupt.

It doesn't matter whether the adapter is plugged in so I doubt it's a power problem, the emerald cartridge came from someone else so I don't know what's happened to it in the past.

I bought the game specifically for transferring 3rd gen Pokemon and it really stinks that it doesn't work.

Has anyone had such a problem before or know what to do?

Edit: I've also got a LeafGreen cartridge that works just fine with diamond: transferring, savegames, everything works.

Your emerald game is probably a bootleg.

Yeah, but it looks legit, I checked it cause I was afraid of being conned.

That box actually isn't legit, here's the real one: .

I think you have a bootleg, which is why it's incompatible with DP.

If you say it's a bootleg i'll believe you, it just looked very legit, nintendo logo in the cartridge, booklet and all. :(

Did you get Emerald off ebay?

A subsidiary of Ebay called Marktplaats. Works pretty much the same.

The weird part is that the legit LeafGreen and the (apparently) bootleg Emerald look very alike,almost as if someone tampered with an original cartridge.

On a side note: does anyone know of a good vendor that still sells the actual emerald version? (and that ships to Europe?)

I got mine just a few months ago at Wal-Mart, but I don't know if they ship to Europe.

Thanks for the help, I think I'm just gonna wait for platinum instead unless I run into a Emerald copy.

if you have an old sp and advance you could buy a caple (or an adapter like the one that came with leafgreen) and trade from emerald to leafgreen, the just trade from leafgreen to diamond.
