I'll upload the event's screenshots tomorrow.

EDIT: Ah fuck it, here they are:

Oh, so they changed the catch rate to match Dialga's and Palkia's in D/P? Speaking of which, was these two's catch rate sent back down to 3?

Also, quick request for anyone who has the ROM: if you can check which moves your team members and legendaries can learn via tutor, it would be much appreciated.

That'd be me :P

EDIT: I'll see if I can get the other legendaries. If so... Hehe.

EDIT2: Giratina was easy to catch (first UltraBall) so I assumed it was 30. And it wasn't even at red health.

*waits for US release*

Too lazy to find a working ROM. :/

Wonder when Platinum moves will be added to Shoddy. I want to test out some things (Bullet Punch Scizor, Outrage Salamence, Punching Luke).

WTF at not giving Dialga Outrage, yet slapping it onto a really crappy starter.

I also really would have liked Arcanine to get Sucker Punch. Bummer. It has Extremespeed, sure, but the typing is more useful despite the limitation put on it.

Thanks a bunch for the list, CrossDragon. I'll add those to mine right away.

Edit: You know what? Screw this. The Smogon thread had an assload of Pokés checked, no way is that list going to catch up. Oh, and Magikarp gets BOUNCE!

And it seems Hypnosis' accuracy really has been lowered. How the hell is it going to behave in matches opposing Platinum to D/P? Unless, of course, it's a typo... and it's really baffling that they'd upgrade it in D/P but U-turn on that move in Platinum. Maybe they didn't like Yanmega, Gengar and Bronzong abusing the **** out of it? What they should've done was upgrade Sing and Grasswhistle to 65%...

Edit 2: EXTREMELY BAD NEWS for Rotom. You can only have one of the special moves at a time, since when you change forms it forgets the special move the old form had. Worse, the fan form has not Air Slash, but Air CUTTER. (False alarm: it really is Air Slash, as Serebii's screenshot shows the Flying move has 20 PP, while Air Cutter has 25. Keeping the mistake there so you know it's not true, Rotom-S DOES get Air Slash.) So which form you use actually matters, and it gives away which special move you have (much like Giratina-O and the non-Normal Arceuses give away which item you have). Speaking of Giratina-O, what happens when it gets the Platinum Orb Tricked or Knocked Off, anyway? Does it revert back instantly? I know Arceus has a Sticky Hold effect to prevent that from happening...

Edit 3: DIVECOLO RETURNS YES YES YES
Oh, and Walrein gets it too, which might make for some interesting shenanigans.

Edit 4: Trick Clefable, huh? Toxic Orb Facade set got something nice here.

Seems kind of Silly for Serebii not to notice when the screenshot clearly says Air Slash...

Frost form will be best then for Blizzard/Thunderbolt? Provided a Rotom alt can keep thunderbolt.

Of course they can... they're all Ghost/Electric after all. They can't keep their special moves, however.

Edit: Wanna know why Ampharos is still waiting for Tail Glow? Its Japanese name is Firefly Light... not quite as misleading as Ambush becoming Sucker Punch, but still pretty bad.

I agree... now there's no excuse.

I'm surprised we're STILL waiting after Uxie and Mesprit... we know Cresselia gets Trick but not Knock Off, and if Uxie got the latter we'd have a pretty good reason to use it over Cressy now.

Also, Magnet Rise seems to be near universal among Electrics... interesting. A lot of Pokés get a conditional no-weak at the cost of a moveslot and a turn... in which cases will it be worth it?

Edit: CONFIRMED: SHAYMIN GETS EARTH POWER. In addition to the dual STAB subseeding set, a Specs set just got that much deadlier. If anything's going to put Shaymin-S over the top, this might be it. (Key word being IF, of course.)

Also, Uxie and Mesprit get pretty much the same tutors as Azelf. That means Knock Off for Uxie, in particular. Mesprit seems lost in the shuffle, as all three pixies got Ice Punch, whereas Mesprit was and is the only one with Ice Beam. Oh well, it's still a nasty CM boltbeamer, at the very least.

Edit 2: Shouldn't have ranted so fast about Shaymin's "useless" attack stat - it now gets Seed Bomb and Zen Headbutt.

It was worth it on Magnezone because hitting a steel without its main answer could be a real pain in the ass, compounded by the fact that most things take Thunderbolt from that thing much worse than it takes an unSTABed Fire Punch. Plus you'd risk sending in an Infernape or something into a Thunder Wave.

I honestly don't see plain Electrics getting a lot of mileage out of Magnet Rise, because they've never been at a point where you see them and go "O NOES WHERES MAH ERFQUAEK USAR"

Luxray is slightly meaty, so it might last a bit longer, but I'm not concerned. It's guys like Metagross that use MR and leave you thinking "well, shit." Being chock full of neutrals isn't exactly a great defensive typing. Metagross on the other hand has one of the best typings in the game.

Yeah... most Electrics are frail anyway. Aside from Amphy and maybe Luxray, it's not going to do too much good, as any solid hit will kill most of them in the Magnet Rise turn and the turn where they were going to take damage anyway. Raikou and Electivire both need all the moveslots they can get their hands on... and... wait, does Zapdos get Magnet Rise, for kicks?

Edit: Looks like CrossDragon's idea of a Platinum server allowing the new Platinum forms has taken a severe hit... whenever you try to bring Giratina-O to a Wi-Fi or local battle, the Platinum Orb goes in the backpack, and Giratina transforms back. The game being programmed to do this on its own instead of just, say, crashing, tells me those forms aren't going to be allowed in battles against human players, at least until next gen (where there's no reason they shouldn't be available). So sadly, Rotom will probably remain UU, Shaymin isn't likely to go to ubers for a couple years, and Giratina... actually doesn't lose much. Unless, of course, the community's massively in favor of having them be implemented into Shoddy anyway.

Edit 2: In the end, Dialga learns Outrage. Made no sense to have Palkia and Giratina learn them but not Dialga, too.

Edit 3: Ultimate trainer found! We had Red in GSC, Steven in Emerald, and now Platinum has... Barry?!? That's right... if you remember, in D/P, his team increases 10 levels after you beat the E4 20 times. In Platinum, he fights you at the Survival Area instead of the Fight Area, and his team increases 10 levels... TWICE. The triggers are currently unknown, but I'd bet it's beating the E4 a number of times again. Anyway, his final team has levels higher than Red and Steven, culminating with a level 85 starter.

Edit 4: If you've been keeping up with the news, you already know it, but if not: Steelix gets Magnet Rise, but not Iron Defense. A guy over on Smogon had the exact same idea as I had, word for word: those tutors are being decided by a dartboard. First giant whales flying, now this. WAAAAAN HANDRED AND AAAAAAAAYTEEEEEEE!!!

Steelix relearns Curse, and now gets Magnet Rise. Jesus Christ. They're going out of their way to make it laugh off Earthquake, not that it ever did much unSTABed.

Iron Defense is redundant and no one would use it, not when Curse does more in the long run. But then I know you were remarking out of logic, not disappointment. Kinda like it took them two games to give Swampert Aqua Tail and Exegg Zen Headbutt. Still no Heal Bell Bronzong though.

I'll bet Steelix doesn't get Iron Head, either. ....I was wrong, it does. Heh.

Smogon has gotten really far in figuring out tutor compatibility. Abomasnow amusingly gets Outrage, as if it already doesn't have the best possible weapon against dragons.

According to Serebii, there are a few non-Sinnoh Dex Pokés with new sprites. Those are: NidoranF, Oddish, Meowth, Muk, Krabby, Hitmonlee, Koffing, Registeel. That last one's expected, of course, but why the others?

Knowing the Pokemon community, Origin Giratina and Sky Shaymin will get implemented onto Shoddy anywho. With that Extended Clause or whatever. For whatever reason Gamefreak didn't want Origin Giratina/Sky Shaymin usable is probably a stupid reason at that.

And don't forget about the Rotom forms. I'm just waiting the updated learnbases are uploaded to Shoddy so I can rape everything with A-Nite.
