So, now that I've got Platinum, transferred all my pokes over, and beat the E4, methinks I'm ready to get back into competitive battling. UU of course. Still the same team it's always been, but I doubt the battling environment is still the same. Methinks it quite homosexual that Rotom can't bring his new forms onto WiFi, but I guess it makes sense.

Rotom@Lum Berry
Timid w/ 252SpAtk, 252Speed, 4HP.
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball
-Thunder Wave
-Will-o-Wisp

Typical double-status Rotom lead. There really isn't much to say here.

Hitmonlee@Choice Scarf
Adamant w/ 252Atk, 252Speed, 4HP
-Close Combat
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Blaze Kick

Everybody loves Hitmonlee. CC for STAB, EdgeQuake for type coverage (might go over UU to find something more suited), and Blaze Kick for lack of a better alternative. Thinking about converting to an Endrevving set, since Sandstream isn't a threat in UU.

Steelix@Leftovers
Max HP, Max Def, 6 atk
Impish
-EQ
-Toxic
-SR
-Roar

Steelix, formerly known as Aggron. Physical wall, pretty much the UU standard.

Clefable@Life Orb
Calm w/ 252HP, 200Def, 56SpDef
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Protect
-Wish

Ahh, my superb tank. Can take a lot of abuse, Wishpasses (and for a defensive team like this...), and deals out decent damage with a Magic Guard'd Life Orb. It's served me well so far. Protect, so that I can get a free Wish, scout, or (if for some reason I have to) stall. Everybody loves Cleffy!

Noctowl@Leftovers
Calm w/ 252HP, 252SpDef, 4Def
-Night Shade
-Roost
-Reflect
-Psycho Shift

Special wall, and good at it's job. Night Shade is Nocty's parallel to Blissey's Seismic Toss, Roost is some great recovery, Whirlwind is for support (Should I drop it for Hypnosis? My team could use the sleep support.), and Psycho Shift is a big "F U" to any uppity jerk what thinks he can status me and get away scot-free.

Claydol@Passho Berry
Calm w/ 252HP, 80SpDef, 176Def
-Earth Power
-Rapid Spin
-Psychic
-Explosion

Team support, being able to lay down Hitmons, get rid of rocks, explode (successfully neutralizing a particularly annoying foe), and...well, Earth Power is just there for when I get Taunted. Passho is just there because 3 Leftovers is too much, even without Item Clause.

There, finally done. So far, it's served me pretty damn well. I might replace Claydol with Hitmontop or Poliwrath (Wrath is UU, right?) to help even out the water weak, but that means replacing Hitmonlee as well.

EDIT: wtf hitmontop doesnt get drain punch. dammit he could have made a decent uu tank with drain punch

It's pretty solid, just a few things I've noticed.

First, half your team is weak to dark. While it's not a common attacking type, if an Absol comes your way, you're going to have serious trouble.

I'd highly against using Aggron as a physical wall, it's just not what he's suited for, regardless of 180 Base Def. Go all the way with Steelix.

I suggest
Steelix@Leftovers
Max HP, Max Def, 6 atk
Impish
-EQ
-Toxic
-SR
-Roar/Rest

Aggron's 4x weak to Fighting, which is a common attacking type in UU. Steelix is only 2x weak, and has 20 base def on Aggron to boot. There's really aren't any good physical walls in UU, but Steelix is the best you're going to get.

As for Claydol, if you take my above sugestion and swap Aggron for Steelix, drop SR for Psychic, so you can deal with Weezing and the Hitmons. If you don't swap Aggron out, I'd suggest dropping Rapid Spin, it's barely a problem for your team, with the exception of Noctowl, but that's got recovery anyways.

I only see two pokes weak to dark, Rotom and Claydol. Unless your forgot that Nocty is Normal/Flying.

Anywho, sound advice. Dropping Aggron for Steelix isn't a problem, and I was kinda leaning towards Psychic on Claydol. I'm also probably gonna try an endrevving 'Lee and see how that works out.

Thanks.

EDIT: Just realized that if I keep a Roar Steelix, I can replace whirlwind with hypnosis on Noctowl. Yahoo.

Well, it's a good thing he's not. Last thing he needs is more weaknesses.

Changed a few things around; namely, I FINALLY got a Steelix, and switched Yache Berry with Passho Berry on Claydol. Dunno, it just seems like Water would be more common in UU, with all the decent Fire-types, and the lack of Dragon types aside from Altaria. And with the addition of a new PHazer on the team, I can replace Whirlwind with the much needed Reflect on Nocty. and, with a new Reflector, I can put Protect on Cleffy.

Thinking of adding a Poliwrath to the team, but I don't know who I'd replace.

BTW, did anyone ever notice how every one of my posts last time I was here mentioned UU battling in some way or another?

You may want to consider using a Flame Orb or Toxic Orb on Clefable, especially for tanking. The status doesn't harm you, and gives you an easy switch in on a predicted status. Keep in mind you've also already got 2 pokemon that are immune to Thunder Wave. This would just add more switching versatility. CM and Life Orb generally go together - since you're using protect/wish you're better off with one of the status orbs, imo.

You can also laugh at anyone who tricks one of the orbs off of you.

The one thing I'm seeing other than Clefable is that you have no resist for Ice Beam. You have two weak, and Steelix can't take much of one anyways.

To top this all off you have no real offense outside of Hitmonlee. I loves me some tanks, but you really have to consider being able to break some tanks instead of stalling. You're probably going to come across a CMsomethingorother and switch in Steelix and get Surf'd or something. Or a Cursing thing. Or something that requires only a couple of turns of set up to get pwned with.

If you have an AR, you can hack your Platinum, so that Giratina Origin, Sky Shaymin and the Rotom Forms can be used on Wifi and Wireless battles against D/P. Go google it or something.

IIRC he raises his own stuff.

Absol is only a problem if it packs Night Slash alongside Sucker Punch. Either way, the former doesn't give it the desperately needed benefit of going first, so Rotom is not going to be fearing it particularly badly.

Actually Repto, I've given up on that. Now I just beg for hacks on GFAQs like everybody else without an AR. Didn't take me long to realize that was a load of BS.

Anyway, I have been thinking of replacing Claydol with another sweeper. He's got too many weaknesses to properly stall. As for Cleffy, methinks of replacing Protect with Calm Mind. If I don't do that, I'll stick with Toxic Orbing him. Alright, I'll look this over and add changes as need be.
