So, recently my local laser tag place got their Pump It Up Exceed 2 machine back from the shop (thank God 'cause I absolutely hated In the Groove), so I've been spurred to take up the hobby again. In turn, I want to know if any of you guys play dancing games and if you're any good at them.
As for me, I mostly play Pump It Up, but still play some DDR now and then. I'm not great--I can only do up to about a 13--but I'm still better than most people that use the machine (but of course, some times you get those real pros that come in, my older brother one of them).
Also, I find it funny that a few years ago, playing a dancing game made you a nerdy gay loser, but now whenever I play in public people are amazed by my skill. Is hitting some pads with good timing really such a feat?
I have my own ddr pad with ddr extreme 2. I used to play it a lot and got my daily exercise after playing light captain jack for an hour. I never ventured into standard so i never got good.
Also, I'm hijacking this topic to allow plastic guitars. Fuck yeah guitar hero. For some reason people are impressed by that, and it's always nice to show you can hit a screen full of colored circles.
Girls probably love the way you fret the buttons oh so gently and hit the whammy bar excessively. <3
This is probably why.
Honestly, I'm more impressed by people who can do dancing games well than play GH - my 7 year old cousin gets insanely high scores on those GH hard modes. I don't encounter many dancers any more save for those online. Though, people who can drum on RB definitely have my respect.
On topic, I prefer playing DDR simply because that's the first one I learned back when the first crummy CDs were made. America version anyone? X__x; Thank goodness for the newer releases. I personally think ITG is an awesome step up. Just too awesome for me to handle for the most part...
I play DDR Extreme 2 on the PS2 from time to time, although I'm not very good... I can only do light, standard on a few songs... Boom Boom Dollar on anything above Beginner is a nightmare.
I don't really know if I'm a good dancer, though. All I have to judge is my friends, and they dance the same way. All I really did when I used to dance with my ex-girlfriend was sway from side to side... When I'm alone, I just fling my body everywhere until I can't stand up anymore. XD
