There is no damage calculation guide, but our damage calculator has some helpful hints if you highlight over some categories. What in particular do you need to know?

The damage calc is really easy.

You get the stat for the Pokemon you are attacking with. Don't forget that Physical attacks are off the Attack stat and that Special attacks are off the Special Attack stat. Then you get the Defensive stat (Defense or Special Defense depending on the move) and you put that in.

The damage calculator won't tell you what nature to choose so that is up to you. If you want a + nature, you will have to find the stat for a + nature Pokemon (use Serebii or something). Don't forget that Serebii lists the MAX stats with 252 EVs. So lets say you have 405 Attack for Adamant Metagross and it OHKOs Gyarados with Thunderpunch about 130% (Not really, just an example). That's a little excess so you just take away from the EVs.

It's easier if you have ShoddyBattle open at the same time rather than looking at Serebii so that you won't have to do the math yourself when it comes to EVs and the stats. It's all an experiment when it comes to Damage Calcs.

Also if it is Super Effective, you change the "Type 1" to 2 and if it has a double weakness, change "Type 2" to 2 also. Put yes for STAB, etc. Half of the time, you won't need to mess with the abilities unless you are using PorygonZ, Azumaril, or Medicham.

I almost forgot about the Base Power and HP. The HP is the where you put the HP stat of the defending Pokemon and Base Power is the power of the attack. Not that hard. Just leave Stealth Rock alone, you won't really need it right away.

Don't forget about the item section if you're using Choice Band, Choice Specs, or Life Orb, etc.

The better damage calcs I've used don't ask for nature in the first place, and in fact they shouldn't. You want the exact number of the stat behind and in front of the attack.

I really like Marriland's damage calculator, though because it doesn't have all of the options for the gross number of ways you can buff an attack I have to figure it into the base power, but I don't mind simple math.
