Hello everyone, first I want to say one important thing:

Please clear your cache! Or at least refresh the page if it looks weird!

Some of the style sheets and javascript pages (js files) changed a bit, so things might not function properly if you're still loading the old ones – sometimes even if you refresh, it may still keep the old ones, especially if you have Internet Explorer or Safari, maybe even Opera.

Toolbar

The toolbar is a cool little thing that will be fairly helpful to you (at least I hope so). It will follow you to all of The Hive web sites and allow you to centrally control your Messages, Friends, Profile, Account information, and more. It may seem a bit buggy and some of the features do not work yet, but I'm getting those done for you, so don't worry.

I suggest adding friends, but don't add everyone for God's sake, only people you really consider your friends, because this will come into play with various security settings we're coming out with.

Forums

The forums have had several updates. Firstly avatars are now a part of The Hive and hopefully will load faster, and will show up on comments for things other than the forums.

Sticky forum posts now appear in red, because the icon was ugly as all get out, and this is much cleaner. You may also notice that on the forums ( as well as other places on the site ) when you move your mouse over the username of a person (if you are logged in) a tiny menu will come up – cool huh?

Censorship

Censorship is enabled on the web site, so words like the F-word become "fudge", but this is only if you are logged out. You will also be able to turn this function on in your account settings, so if you prefer it to censor text when you are logged in, it will be done automatically.

The reason for this is two fold: 1) advertisers hate cuss words, 2) so do proxies and filters. A few people have mentioned that Libelldra gets blocked at their school or sometimes work because it has bad words on some of the pages, this helps with that problem, so you can login to the main page, and turn on censorship if you're at school, and thus can do whatever the hell you please, without worrying about the Man blocking your content.

Analyses

The analyses wiki is now online. Basically you can easily edit the analyses pages (and even comment on them) by clicking the Edit tab (if you're logged in). You must have been a member for at least 3 months and have 300 posts to edit analyses, and must be a mod to restore the History.

Articles

Similar to analyses, the articles are also a wiki, but anyone can submit a new article, but it has to be approved by a mod. Once it is approved, anyone can edit it that has at least 100 posts and has been a member for 1 month, and the original author. Same story though with history, only mods can restore history.

NOTE TO MODS AND OTHERS
It is very important, when you put up an analysis or an article that was in the forum, please edit the forum post and remove all content from the post, and link to the analysis or article. This is because those forum posts use a LOT of database space and also bandwidth, and the article and analysis pages have caching, thus saving bandwidth and load time for end-users (that means you).

Tons more coming
Richtext editing has been removed on the forums, articles, and analyses, because it was a pain in the ass, but you can still insert BBS Code, and soon we'll have a little popup or something to help with that.

I know this update took a while, but as you guys can see, a lot went into it, but now since the main framework is up, building onto it will be faster, and I hope to be able to finish up Libelldra almost completely by the end of the month (I hope to do a lot this weekend).

Thanks for all your help and suggestions, and for those being patient. For those who kept grilling me to get the site done: Fuck you!

Remember you can also submit your ideas to our official wiki:

I've told you this already, but I am very grateful for the amount of effort that has been put into this. As a programmer myself it is obvious to see what has been done to allow for the most community output.

I believe he said he's taken that out as of right now (if it's called Richtext editing then it's gone forever) but he'll add something different later.

Wow. Just wow. I feel like I need to take a minute and say how, not only extremely grateful (which I am) but impressed as well with the current updates. It took some time, and understandably, but I for one never expected this much effort to be put into The Libelldra Forge on polites part..its just amazing. Damn near everything you could dream up for a forum/community is available to us and its all thanks to polites hard work and dedication.

*starts round of applause*
