Sadly, I'm not making this up. My brother was with me when this happened, and he couldn't believe it either.

I can top that, easily.

Quick Claw Flareon with Bite and incessant flinching (getting the QC every single time) ends up killing four of my guys before finally getting hit and going down. This is round 70-something in the Courtyard, and naturally I screw up and fail to get the full recovery, so I go in with my last two. This round introduces fog, and my Metagross and Dragonite are taken down by a Luxray with Secret Power.

I'm not ashamed to say that when I went in a second time I led with Wondertomb and Huge Power Regigigas, with Kyogre, Groudon, Tyranitar and Mewtwo in backup. I wasn't about to waste another 3+ hours on retarded bullshit hax. The CPU immediately knew he had Wonderguard since they always went after it with status and stat drops from the getgo, ignoring Regi and anyone else. Rest took care of that. He wasn't there to fight, anyway; just to prevent that faggoty scenario from ever occurring again.

This was the CPU, people. If it were a human on the other side, that means it would be a human that gets such insane luck, and we can't have that in Pokémon.

Anyway, this wasn't my most meaningful streak of bad luck in PBR, just my most spectacular, since that Persian was partnered by all kinds of NFEs and NUs, which I OHKOed easily. No, that'd be a DTing, Milk Drinking Miltank owning half my team in the 70s in the Courtyard. At least I aimed for that spot next to full recovery that recovers HP for all my team, since my PP wasn't in any sort of emergency.

Oh, and fog in the Courtyard is exactly why I had Kyogre first on my Battle Pass. It pissed me off so much in Diamond (since I didn't waste any moveslot on Defog, ever) that I didn't want to take any chance.

Have you fought Sashay/Ribbon round two in Starview yet? It's certainly not as annoying as losing to pitful things, but god I effing hate Giratina. And Milotic and Registeel and Togekiss when I'm not the one using them.

Since I use Diamond I fight Mysterial's Kyogre team, but surprisingly I rarely have trouble with him. I'll get taken down to my last mon, sure, but I rarely have doubts of my winning. Blissey just cuts him off so badly, even with Aura Spheres and CM Hydro Pumps coming at me, it's nothing Thunder Wave and Softboiled can't even out. Seismic Tossing them to death is satisfying.

I've also developed a newfound respect for Life Orb Scizor. It's surprisingly dangerous against things that aren't ready to start fighting without setting up a move or two, and when trudging through the 1P content, it makes very short work of their Cresselias, which they not only tended to whore but also try to Toxistall.

I get insane luck in pokemon. That could've been me. >_> But, damn. How long did those Bites last? Like 20 turns?

Couldn't have been that many. It sounds though like his Kyogre wasn't scarfed, otherwise Persian would have been raped instantly. Depending on the defense Bite could've done something like 50 damage per hit. Laughable if you're not constantly flinching.

The Secret Power on my Metagross had me ready to smash my controller, though, because it was barely hitting for over 20 damage; meanwhile my EQing it once would probably kill it.

I don't think Choice items are such a good idea in-game, even if it's PBR we're talking about.

And yes, that's six flinches in a row, an occurence that has a 0.07% chance of happening. I had another sequence of four flinches and another of three, both on my Dialga, this weekend. Speaking of Dialga, it turned out to be the hero of the rental... but not for me, for my brother. He tried his hand at beating Mysterial, since I kept getting clobbered. He lucked out (no joke, he nailed paralysis with Thunder no less than three times) into a one-on-one duel involving my Dialga and Mysterial's Manaphy, which already had two CMs. Manaphy kept spamming Ice Beam, which was slowly wearing Dialga down, and Hydrorest, while all Dialga could do was T-bolts for minimal damage. And, well, you see it coming, a critical hits through the two CMs and obliterates Manaphy for the win.

PBR is nothing like ingame. Not only do I think they're a good idea I think it'd be damn foolish not to use them, since the CPU sure does.

I always die on the master coloseum 3rd play, a guy uses choice scarf golem and mismagius, golem uses explode, kills my guys (none with a choice scarf of their own and ev's weren't trained because it was my ingame team) mismagius uses calm mind, then he does the exact same thing with driftblim and some other explosion user (which i forgot) even if i survive, I get swept by a +3 calm minded mismagius.

lol, that's why you don't do Starview without proper EV training. There's another round with a Scarfed Rampardos that eats ingame teams alive. That and the Golem you mentioned were bitched about incessantly on the PBR board when it first hit NA. Those people insisted the CPU blatantly cheated because they were outrun by those two things (one of them even said Golem outsped his Gengar.) While the CPU does pull some serious hax, these people never considered they perhaps were using shitty teams.

Hell the challenge doesn't pick up (for a good team) until you face Mysterial the first time, with just the Palkia or Dialga, and then it drops off again a bit since round 5 also stays generally easy.

I think the game gets hard with the battle roulette, I actually did better using a lv1 magikarp, wynaut, and other crap then my good teams.

Much like the Courtyard there's a really easy system for choosing what you want. The only problem then is prioritizing so that they don't take something that'd really mess you up.

For me, that surprisingly was my Fake Out-Last Resort Orbed Ambipom. That thing is ridiculously vicious and dangerous in doubles, especially with something like Roulette where you can't have and may not have your whole team.
