After months of arguing on forum around the world I try to make sense of the flaming war and try to calm the flames down (impossible task I know). Btw PC does not count in this war this is a console war I can not stress that part enough. I will post each console in a seperate post, PLEASE DO NOT POST UNTIL I SAY SO

Lets start out with the PS3
The PS3 is a console packed with features. The PS3 is grpahic wise the most powerful console out there, and has a built in upgradable Blu Ray player. Not to mention an internet browser, a downloadable music store, HOME (eventually), and free online.

Now lets get to the library of games for the PS3 (only exclusives)
The big hits are:
MGS4
Resistance
Rachet and Clank
Ninja Gaiden Black

Upcoming big games are:
Little Big Planet
Gran Turismo
Kingdom Hearts 3
Killzone 2
Final Fantasy 14

Not bad If I do say so myself, but lets talk about the PS3 online comunity. Its like playing with a bunch of mimes, no one talks,  while playing MGO, COD 4, or Resistance at max I ever see is 3 mics. The mic for PS3 has to be plugged into the USB port and looks like someone stoll it from airtraffic control (well the old ones did not sure about the new ones). However PS3 online is free but from what I have experienced there is about 2-4 more seconds of lag on games that are also on 360, its the price you pay for not paying.

Lets talk controller shall we?
The sixaxis controller is a total flop really, developers hardly use it, its annoying to use, and there is no rumbel on the controller.

However Sony released the Dual Shock 3 controler bringing back the rumble but ditching the  whole sixaxis gimmick.
The saving grace of any PS3 controller is that it charges directly via a usb port into the PS3, but only when the console is turned on.

The PS3 is a reliable system with only a 3% fail rate.

My final say on the PS3 is that its a console packed with great features, that it does better than some consels (compare PS3 internet to Wii internet) while fails miserably in others (sixaxis).

This console is for the person that does not mind paying a heavy penny, but gets so many great features and access to some of the best looking games that could fit into your living room.

Our next console is the Xbox 360 from Microsoft. YOU STILL CANT POST!

The 360 got a huge head start on the competition, giving it time to build up its online community, its game library, and Bill Gate's wallet. Although because the 360 came out so much earlier than the other systems it originaly did not have an HDMI hook up. The 360 does not have as many features as the PS3, as a matter of fact it does not even have internet. But what it does have is Xbox Live and Xbox Live single handedly saved this system. Yes you heard it hear first if Xbox Live was as good as Playstation Network, I would bet you my life savings that there would be alot more PS3s than 360s. The amount of exclusive games and its library is great, but without Xbox Live they really are not as good as they appear to be.

One problem that I feel like I must discuss is the Red Ring of Death (RROD).
The RROD is what people see when there XBOX malfunctions and overheats a circut causing 3 red light to appear arround the power button. When this happens your Xbox is basically dead or will die soon. This is why Xbox has a high failure rate (31% "it got better by 2%"). Luckly Microsoft has admited there is a problem and if your Xbox has a 2 year warrenty you can get a new one free in about 2-4 weeks.

Benefits of Xbox Live:
Download original exclusive Xbox games (PS3 only lets you download PSP games)
A simplified easy to use interface
Better servers for online games
movie and tv downloads
faster loading times than PSN
Most big sellers have 1 month free cards in them
Customizable Profiles
Private Chat

Problems  with Xbox Live
If it ever goes down, its messed up for a while
It costs $50
If you are to far away from your modem it costs $100 to buy a wireless adapter for it

To those that say PSN is better because its free, STFU, its only $50 and for twice a better online service than PSN. Also every PS3 owner shoved out $60 bucks for MGS4 if not more, so then why not spend 50 on a better online service and with the money left over buy the legendary map pack for Halo 3.

Now there are so many big hit exclusives for the 360 that I am only going to list a few here:
Mass Effect
Ninja Gaiden 2
Halo 3
Gears of War
Viva piniata (lol I know but its big with kids)
Lost Odessy
Dead or Alive 4

Big Names to Come:
Gears of War 2
Halo Wars
Mass Effect 2
Halo Crusades
Bioshock 2
Dead or Alive 5

The thing about 360 and PS3 is that they get alot of the same games, but alot of them play exacatly and look nearly the same the same way in single player, is that the only way to tell which game is better is by its content. This is where Xbox Live comes in again, having exclusive DLC, or a better experience using the Xbox Live servers is what really makes games like GTA4 or Oblivion better on 360.

The controler is the best controller I have ever seen for a console while the headset is a chargeble wireles or wired into the controller. The range on the mics and the controller is great, I can be eating downstairs and upstairs in my room my character will still be able to move around  I still can talk with my friends. The controller is charable however you do need to spend 20 dollars again.

Another great feature is the achievment system; Basically if you do something in the game that difficult, special, or fun you can be rewarded with achievment points. Doing something difficult and getting rewarded by it is a cool thing, which also made my decision on whether to buy DMC for PS3 or 360.

The 360 may not have as good graphics on the PS3 it does have, a system for rewarding players, the best online from Xbox live, with a vibrant but somewhat annoying community.  Along with the best controller for a console ever makes up for a 31% fail rate and its still cheaper than a PS3.

The final Console in this discussion is the loveable Nintendo Wii.

The wii may have a silly name, and many people still wish it was called the Revolution, but people have stopped complaining about that and started complaining about those "We Would Like to Play" commercials. The Wii is not a powerful graphics machine, and has no ability to play DvDs or go HD. If one were to take a part a Wii, one would see that it is basically an upgraded Gamecube (No joke), but with a gimmick and with that gimmick it sold like crazy.

The wiimote is by far, this consoles saving grace with its responsive motion sensing, and nintendo has given out the tools to make the wiimote work for anything a developer comes up with it. Oh you want a shooter, here is the wii zapper, you want to play tennis, golf, or baseball here is the sports kit. Want to lose weight? Here is wii fit. Want to play guitar hero? Here you go!

Although the one problem I have with the wiimote is that its batteries seem to die much quicker than other consoles. Also you need to buy a charge kit for the wiimote.

The wii has the best backwords compatiblity, by being able to play every gamecube game, as supposed to an xbox 360 98% backwords compatibility and 88% for PS3.

Big Hitters for the Wii
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Mario Kart Wii
Metroid Prime 3
Super Mario Galaxy
Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Wii Sports/ Wii Fit
No More Heros

Big Upcoming games
... I dont really know to be honest but knowing Nintendo they have a shiny new game to show us at E3

The Nintendo Wii curently is currently the most customizable console out there (until PS3 gets HOME) with the Mii system. The Miis are little avatars that are somewhat customizable, and if someone connects there wii to the internet they can download other people's mii via a channel they can download for free in the virtual store.

The virtual store is one the Wii's best features, in which players can download  channels for the wii, dowload some of Nintendo's greatest games, or download new games from Wiiware. Most downloads cost wii points which are fairly easy to get but however the Wii has no hard drive. It uses a SD memory card, which is fine, but it really limits the downloads. Also the lack of a hard drives has discouraged developers to place dlc for games on the wii. However that will change for guitar hero 4.

Nintendo Wifi Connection (NWC) really drops the ball for the console however. The majority of games are quite laggy, while there are some games that you pay for better online "Pay to Play". The lack of voice chat (something even the DS can do) and the inclusion of friends codes annoy many gamers. However this in Nintendo's first attempt at an online experience and for the most part a free service we should not get to angry at them that Mario Kart Wii's online is lag free, while Brawl's online runs at the speed of a love child of a snail and  a turtle. However it does seem like Nintendo does not care about improving its servers.

The Wii has the second most sales out of all the consoles out this gen only trailing Xbox 360 but the gap is clossing slowly. Although the Wii's are selling out everywhere its a common misconception that it will soon pass the 360 but in reality because everyone wants one, but Nintendo is making to few Wiis to meet with the demand. Early on Nintendo was making 50% as many wiis as Microsoft and Sony were making the consoles. Giving the Wii the feeling that Nintendo was selling as many Wiis as possible but even Nintendo's efforts were still not enough. However nintendo has built another factory and sped up production. As of now Nintendo is making 80% as many consoles as Microsoft and Sony.

However the charm of the Wii is that anyone can pick up and play it. The Wii is really the first famil consule in which everyone from Grandpa to your 5 year old sister can play and each of them can get the same great experience. The Wii is the cheapest console out there and if you can find one in stores buy it. The Wii is a great system that your entire family can enjoy.

In reality there can be no winner of the consule wars, only three companies biding for dominance in an industry while each consule does better than the others in certan fields.

PS3: With the best graphics outside of a computer and while giving a free online experience. A plethura of features from a blu ray player, to an interntet browser, to some of the best RPGs and Racing games on the market; Oh btw did I mention MGS 4 on a 1080p TV with an HDMI hookup only falls short graphics wise to Crysis?

360: With a vibrant but somewhat rude online community that is gaurenteed to offend you and nearly kill you from laughing. It gives the best online experience from Xbox Live, that will either have you working hard for those achievments, teabagging your friends in Halo becuase you just got a no scope, playing some of the best games for the XBOX, or downloading exclusive content that will never see the light of day on the PS3. While having the best controller for a consule in the history of video games and still devivering powerful HD graphics of its own.

Wii: With its cute, simple, easy to pick up to play games that attract casuals, or games for the hard core only it brings everyone to the table (and two random Japanesse dudes asking to come into your house and play). The Wii only suffers from a lack of a hard drive and its crappy online, take that away and you have a great consule that is only limited by the polygons on the screen and the imagination of the developer.

The only real loser in the console war is the fanboy that bashes other consoles for no good reason. Gamers play videogames for the games and not for the consoles, and somewhere along the lines we forgot that. Each consule gives off
its own uniqness and his its own great games, and a true fan would not bash one consule just because he has the other. Instead one should save up and buy all three, or admire the others from a distance. That what being a good gamer is all about.

YOU MAY POST NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it's hard to end the console war as many, many people are bias. There are the die-hard Sony fanboys, die-hard Xbox fanboys, etc...

I am probably considering myself one of the die-hard Sony fanboys, but I do have an open mind.

Comparing the systems on paper, the PS3 is hands down the best system out on the market. It is a great deal with all the features like you said. If it were to go for the actual retail price it should be, it would easily break 1000 bucks. Not only that but it has Blu-Ray and that's what is out on the market today. HD-DVD is considered obsolete now which means the slight fall from grace for X-box, but it won't harm its sells, just its functions. No longer will you be able to use your X-box to play HD-DVDs since they won't be sold anymore. Again, X-box Live is a great online community and that is usually what is used when arguing what's better; the PS3 or the X-box 360.

I'm sure you've heard your share of "Well PS3 online is free and it doesn't get RROD!", "Well we have X-box Live which smashes your crappy online and HALO and Gears of War!"

To tell the truth, each console favors a certain Genre. If I were to point out some things, I would say 98% of X-box 360 owners are leaning towards the Shooting/Action Genre while PS3 owners are more of RPG/Action Genre. The Wii...well...er...is Family Fun a Genre?

Let's face it, the Wii is for the family and not as powerful as a system as the others. It's a Gimmick system and that is keeping it alive. If it didn't have Super Smash Bros, it wouldn't be as great as a system. I say that because I know plenty of people that have said "I've only bought it for SSBB." But then again you can use that argument with the other consoles, Halo for X-Box and MGS4 and Final Fantasy XIII for PS3.

Let's say there were no such thing as an 'exclusive' (which might be sooner or later). Each system had the same game. X-box 360 would be leading in sales, the PS3 and Wii would be following closely. I say this because X-box 360 has the far superior online community and playing video games by yourself just isn't that fun sometimes. The Wii would only be close to the PS3 because of it's WiiMote.

Now we take consideration into the remotes. Like I said before about 98% of X-box 360 owners are Shooters. And that is what the controller stresses the most. The X-box 360 controller is easily the most comfortable controller for Shooting games. The trigger doesn't put stress on the fingers and the button placements are perfect. The PS3 on the other hand isn't. It's very linear and not as comfortable while playing a Shooter. The WiiMote will probably give you the most fun since it is very involving BUT it won't help you be good at the game. While playing the Wii, I found it very difficult to play some of the games because of the WiiMote. Sometimes the sensor is a little sensitive or not sensitive enough. Considering I'm only standing 5 feet away, that should not be a problem. Precision is needed in a Shooter and the WiiMote does not provide that while the X-box 360 and PS3 controller does, XB360 being the superior one.

Now we will add the scenario of stripping the online community and controllers. Let's say each console had an online community and controller equivalent to each other. The sales would now look like this. XB360, PS3, and the Wii in a miserable position, barely selling.

You might be surprised about the PS3's position but it is there because of the price tag. No one wants to spend 400 dollars on a console but that is because they don't know what they're getting. The PS3 is a very powerful console. XB360 is still in first place because of its reasonable price. The Wii is failing because now it has nothing to offer. It's now considered just a better looking GameCube. Yes it's cheap, but do you really get a bang for your buck like the PS3? No.

Now you can say "Taking out features cannot justify a console war" but it can.

This takes us back to my first statement, the console war will not be ended easily because of the fan-boys. If you look at it from the perspective I just gave, the console war would be between XB360 and PS3. If I were to take out another thing: Price. Then the PS3 would win hands down.

This war really is senseless as it depends all on PREFERENCE. The PS3 should be seeing some Shooters soon with Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 but the Halo and Gears of War fanbase is so strong that an XB360 wouldn't convert over to the PS3 and Metriod Prime is not enough for the Wii keep Shooters at bay, that's probably why you see a lot of people owning another console along with the Wii.

Well, I don't know what else to say and my fingers are getting tired.

I say end the stupid arguments. PS3 is by far the most powerful console, but the XB360 will shine forever because of XBL. Home will be and improvement along with the rewards system that will be added sooner or later but the XBL community is just too strong and who the **** is gonna switch to PSN after they paid 50 dollars. I wouldn't personally if I were an XB fan, but I'm not, so :P.

Actually the Wii has got some very good games coming out. I can't see this topic giving it a chance so far.

Mad World - New game with the only colors being black, white, and red). Terribly over violent though.

The Conduit - A new shooter game featuring a custom made engine to actually bring out the Wii's strength. Lot of work on it.

Monster Hunter 3 - A huge best seller franchise in Japan, it was usually on the ps systems until now. The gameplay is hard to get used to at first, but many get over 100+ hours on this game.

The new Tales game - Even though I hate how they develop a plot. (No Triace, saying "...It's nothing..." is not good character development.

Anywhoo, I felt I should bring out those games at least.

Being that all of my friends have a Xbox360 though, I've played the usualy stuff. Assasin's Greed, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4, Halo3, Gears of War. And it is a very very fun system. The graphics are suffice to me. And if I had the money, I'd get one for sure.

Ps3 is also very very cool. MGS4? Yeah! I wish I had this system too. It's very powerful and very just, cool.

And how could we forget the longlasting PC?

Spore looks fantastic, any of those videos just amaze me. Started from just a simple cell, you customize it as it evolves and as the game customly builds a fitting environment for each choice you make until the species is ready to search beyond the universe.

Left 4 Dead - Still running on the Source engine. But it's being developed by Valve so it's going to be awesome. Co operating with three other players as you survive an onslaught of Zombies. Yes.

Warhammer Online - If you're into this online thing (I haven't since like six grade and that was for ff11). It is taking a new spin on the MMO franchise and seriously develops on the strengths of the genre.

As you can tell, all the systems make me excited, and I honestly can't understand why people would bash. I mainly want an Xbox though to play the new Banjo and Kazooie game coming out! :-(

EDIT: Arec, I think the Xbox360 is actually taking the helm of an RPG giant this generation. The ps3, besides stuff like FF, isn't getting the kind of support like the xbox. Mistwalker, ex square employees, are sold to the 360 only, and they gave out Blue dragon, Lost Oddesyee(sp? holy crap I butchered it). And now they are getting Tales of Vesperia, a new action rpg from Tri Ace. They've already had Mass Effect, and Bioshock (system shock 2 left somewhat of an impression.
