Which one is better?
[/QUOTE]
While I like the color choice and eye on the first splice, there are a couple of areas where some of the spliced objects kind of deter me from liking it more. For example, the horns on the first one seem to want to connect more to the skull than they do as they're just barely hanging on. The skull on the waist is nice, but the position looks like it should be a bit more to the left to give a better perspective appearance. The thing that stood out most to me was the "shine" or reflection off the right and left legs. I can't tell if those were meant to be decorations or just "shades," but they kind of distract me as they're very bright compared to the rest of the darker picture. If they were perhaps toned down a bit, they'd fit much better with the overall color scheme.
The second one takes care of the horn concern I had earlier on the first splice. However, the arms seem a bit out of place, mainly due to size reasons. I also like where the skull was placed on the second dragonite, but the eye seems to add too much of a "cute" factor. If you were going for that, that's great though. One other thing that baffled me was the Darkrai shoulder piece. It looks like it could be a nice addition, but the colors given to the splice do it no justice as they hide the shoulder piece's existence by camoflaging it too much. Don't get me wrong, I like the colors, but they're too dark to let most people get a good grasp on the details without having to strain their eyes to notice.
Overall, they're both very interesting and creative. The different placements of the splices demonstrates the varying decisions made. Sprite-wise, I'd go with the second. Colorwise is definitely for the first.
