Speaking of the seven treasures, I'm planning on putting Articuno and Mew on my team once I get them. Just look at those moves!

Haven't played this much lately, but I did recruit the pixies over the course of the last week. A few more missions, then it's off to the 46-floor marathon to Dialga.

Erm, I got a question: If I pick Munchlax as the starter, what moves should I give him? I know TMs are needed for it, true, but that movepool is too good to waste it. In any case, I've already though about Flamethrower and Ice Beam, and I guess Brick Break will come handly when fighting Dialga (and Focus Blast as its remplacement after evolution). But, as the 4th move, what should I put? Shadow Ball is another strong ranged attack; and Rollout is a multi-hit. Could you give me a hand?

What kills Rollout is that it stops as soon as it misses, which means you're not going to be doing a single HP of damage 55% of the time. And the power rise just doesn't seem that big from what I've seen.

As for your moveset, here are the ranged moves you can choose from: Water Pulse, Ice Beam, Shadow Ball, Shock Wave, Flamethrower (and Focus Blast when evolving). Among these, I'd pick Water Pulse for the good PP and high chance of confusion, Flamethrower for the equally good PP and high base power (even if the burn is useless), and Shadow Ball for the decent PP, solid base power and high chance of lowering SD. As for your fourth move... actually, I'd go with a STABbed move, even if it's at melee range (three ranged moves are more than enough). The two choices you have for that are Tackle with the insane ammo clip, and Body Slam with the slightly higher base power and great para chance.

I wouldn't worry too much about Dialga if you do pack a STABbed move, since STAB is worth as much as a SE hit in this game. And since NVE hits don't reduce damage all that much, you're looking at a Tackle/Body Slam that does almost as much damage as Brick Break. And there's the sweet para-hax if you pick Body Slam. But overall, X-Eye Seeds are Dialga's kryptonite, you just have to clobber it with your best attacks in the several turns it's not doing anything.

(Edit: Just in case you think base power matters... it doesn't. Damage is proportional to the SUM of the attack stat and the move's power, not their product. That means the difference between Tackle and Body Slam is made up by 6 points in the Attack stat.)

Speaking of Dialga, I went and recruited him right now... I would've liked to know that you skip the save point between Hidden Highland and Temporal Tower for whatever reason. In my first run I used it to take a ton of Reviver and X-Eye Seeds for Dialga, and just now I had to do with the X-Eye Seeds I found in the tower. Also, Roar of Time DOES hurt like hell... it missed Torchic, but took away half of my level 70 Bulbasaur's HP. Thank God there's only 4 PP on that thing.

Rollout is one of the worst moves in the game, like Fury Swipes. I'd choose some ranged attacks and a STAB'd move (read: Body Slam, like Slowflake said).

As for Dialga... It doesn't seem to be as good as Palkia >_>. Spacial Rend hurts like hell, has more PP, a high critical hit ratio and you don't skip a move. But it owns if you get inside a monster house with no House Avoider IQ Skill.

Now, the game is much more easier for me. My rescue force is like. WOW.

Team Primal:
- Infernape Lv.70
- Feraligatr Lv.70
- Alakazam Lv.69
- Salamence Lv.69

You can bet your sweet zippy it's overkill. Still, I get owned in some monster houses. I got owned in one in Midnight Forest... When I was looking for Latios. I found him, got to the room he was in... It's a Monster House! oshi- And I lost. I was Feraligatr as leader and got crit owned by a Razor Leaf.

Dialga has access to Time Tripper though, which is the best IQ skill in the whole damn game.

As for Fury Swipes, I don't know what you're on... multi-hit moves that aren't Rollout or Ice Ball have been nerfed to hell and back, yes, but they're still among the best moves in the game, which shows how uber they were in MD1. And let's not get into Breloom's Mind Reader + Bullet Seed combo.

Slowflake, half of us here have the Rom, not the actual game. So if you want someone to rescue you... You need the wondermail code. >_> Which is long as hell. Btw, What level are you? Seriously you and Dusk like Overkill levels.

Level 70, I think. But that's not gonna do much against fixed-damage attacks, now is it?

Anyway, here comes the password:

S#TQ+Q PMXP&R 8K5K+#
#K6&3C +R#&CJ 2&1J=6
7@58SM FNM3R1 13=YNN

Random thought: You know how AVGN likes to ***** about long-ass password? If he can't stand Castlevania 2's 16-character passwords, I'm afraid of what he might do if he found out about this game. At least it's nice enough to not include Is that look like 1s, Os that look like 0s, lowercase letters, etc.

Edit: I just read Present was NERFED between MD1 and MD2, with damage cut by 37.5%. Still didn't save me.

Thanks!

Oh, BTW, I was supposed to be the one to send you a Reviver Seed... oh well, I'll give you the TY mail in case you want it back... I have several pages of these (but I got cocky and stupidly brought none to Blizzard Island), so no biggie.

#Y@PM2 &H@K51 HS9X6@
6KH&C+ 3YMXHT 1SM5T&
7CTS#9 &1497% X2JQTC

Edit: Finished Blizzard Island, but I had a few close calls in the process. And not only Presents, though I've taken a few. Seriously, Counter Basher is meant to be turned off by human players because it's more detrimental than anything, but on enemies it's just ridiculously powerful. My Torchic Pecked a Golduck for 95 damage, but it took 95 damage as well. Bam, 60% of its HP gone just like that. This is just crazy, I'm taking a few Reviver Seeds whenever I go to a post-credits dungeon. You don't know when an IQ skill you can't predict will kill you. Oh, and let's not forget that the Magus Law applies to these folks too: they lose all their IQ skills when they join you. Super.

Oh, and I've seen Rain Dance and Hail MISS. How the heck is that possible?

Giant Volcano cleared. And I recruited Heatran. In a further note, I also recruited Groudon when in Shimmer Desert. How cool is THAT?

Did Crevice Cave and Mt. Avalanche today... I'm thankful I brought Reviver Seeds to the latter, because DAMN is Articuno brutal. It was a quick exchange of Bullet Seeds and Ice Beams, with Masquerain boosting me with Agilities, and I couldn't really afford to move, because it would've meant instant death to one of my party members for nothing. I really panicked when Articuno went down, though, because it was two squares away, which means I wouldn't recruit it. Or so I thought, because it appeared back after getting the Ice Flute and wanted to join my team anyway. Needless to say, I'm taking it on all my expeditions from now on.

Edit: So I went to Mystery Jungle and recruited Mew, another legendary I'm putting on my team. Now I understand why there are so much less long-ass dungeons in this than MD1 - they went way overboard with the traps. I've stepped on FIVE in one average-sized room, and that's not counting the squares I haven't stepped on. Add the fact that all enemies in the post-credits dungeons have Exclusive Move User turned on, and you've got a recipe for disaster at every turn. I've also seen several Pokémon "watch carefully", even while I was clobbering them... could that be Dedicated Traveler? I wouldn't know, I never turn it on.

This is weird. I first went to Bottomless Sea, defeated Kyogre, and didn't recruit it. The second time, the dungeon ends at the 49th floor. Does doing a mission in the process have something to do with it?
Thanks.

I think it does. Just like doing missions prevent you from doing the second part of a dungeon (Far Amp Plains for example), they might stop you from meeting the legendary at the end of the dungeon.
