Woot, My Chimchar learned an IQ Move called Nonsleeper, preventing Sleep. Hurray! Also, trying to get past the damn Surrounded Sea Level. Damn Rain Dance, weakens Fire Moves and doubles Kingdra's Speed.... That's like gg to Chimchar ;_;

Anyone know a way to get a CPU-controlled Poké to use Recycle? I've tried everything, and zilch. Dang, looks like I'll need to be able to change leaders to be able to use it. IIRC, another thing that comes with graduating from the guild.

Edit: I went to Landslide Cave today, and one of the tracks that play in there is a medley of tracks from MD1 (Mt. Freeze, Sky Tower, Mt. Thunder, Thunderwave Cave). Pretty cool. A bit of research says this is what plays in Blizzard Island, and is a possible track in two of the event dungeons (Articuno's and Mew's) as well.

My Turtwig has finally learned Leaf Storm, and I must say it's pretty awesome. It's basically a Bullet Seed but special and it has a side effect. But oh well. Very close to evolving :D

WHAT? Leaf Storm is multi-hit? That was out of left field, that one. I was expecting it to be a souped-up special Razor Leaf, not Bullet Seed. Too bad it's virtually worthless, as the only one that learns Leaf Storm but not Bullet Seed is Celebi.

Err, let me reword that. Leaf Storm hits long range, like Bullet Seed, but does not hit multiple times. There, maybe that'll clear up some confusion.

Oh, so it IS like Razor Leaf. Either way, drawback attacks are terrible in this game. Unless you're at a low enough level where you'll see the difference higher base power makes.

Edit: I found a Focus Blast TM lying around, and it IS ranged, just like I suspected. Any news on Aura Sphere?

Here is Friend Bow Code. You must beat the game and have access to the Marine Resort to get it. I can't even get it yet. <_< Anywho, here it is:

Speaking of Marine Resort, Serebii claims Gummis are "mostly found in Marine Resort". Are they really that plentiful there?

Right now I'm debating whether to use Sitrus berries for healing or boosting max HP. My team's in their low 40s, and still at this point I've found only one Sitrus berry (which I think I was rewarded for reaching a certain rank) and no Life Seed. Full healing is nice on paper, but 100 HP healing from Oran berries will get me at or near full health anyway for a while longer. Thing is, at this point stat growth for my Pokémon is slowing down big time (except for Geodude, who's actually picking up after lagging all this time), so... yeah, I think I just convinced myself to boost max HP. On Bulbasaur, of course.

BTW, see what I've found on GameFAQs... a Golden Mask code FOR BEACH CAVE!

Client: Magnezone
Objective: Arrest Venomoth
Place: Beach Cave B2F
Restrictions: None
Difficulty: D
Reward: Golden Mask
Wonder Mail:
@QYP SJ@- N-J%
TH6= 4-SK 32CR

So I'm going to do this, then a few missions in Amp Plains, then it's off to the Northern Desert. (That's right, I'm level 43 and I still haven't done that one.) As a side note, Torchic got an IQ skill that raises its accuracy by one stage and lowers evasiveness by one stage. I keep it off, because when this skill would really matter (boss fights and monster houses) I'd much rather have the extra evasiveness than the extra accuracy. Bulbasaur got another skill I don't like very much - Trap Buster. You know why I hate it? It destroys Wonder Tiles as well! Just what you need when you want to recover from a bunch of Growls. However, its next skill more than makes up for this: it reveals the location of the stairs! Now I haven't seen it in action since I got it while doing missions in Foggy Forest; I got it on 10F and in 11F the stairs were right in the room where I started. Definitely sounds neato. (Edit: It just points the general direction of the stairs when you arrive on the floor. Still, not bad.)

Finally, check out the most epic mission ever in the game.

Client: Starly
Objective: Find Oran Berry.
Place: Oran Forest 4F
Restrictions: None
Difficulty: D (15)
Reward: 150P + ?
Wonder Mail: TTX3 7WFW 5X8T WQJX =R-Y JP3@

That one beats even Magnezone wanting you to arrest a Skarmory for it, or a Tyranitar getting an item stolen by a Magikarp. Seriously.

Yeah, there's a lot of gummies found in marine resort, but not that much. although at the end of the dungeon there's 4 deluxe boxes containing 4 random gummies. And damn, I really need trap buster. I have the worst luck with traps.

Keep in mind, they only have a CHANCE of destroying traps. Else I might keep it on and turn it off if I really need a Wonder Tile, but that's not the case.

Damn it Slowflake. You beat me to posting that code. 40 Something? Jesus. How far are you in the game? I've just gotten the concentrator skill, the one you mentioned in like 2 posts above this one. And I've recently beaten Darkrai omfg, hard as hell with a Fire/Grass Starter/Partner. Bring Reviver Seeds. At least 15. I only used 3 though. Anywho, I got Manaphy and I'm waiting to unlock Marine Resort and get Phione. <_<

And evolving your starter and partner. >_>

Anyway, I just finished the Northern Desert as I speak. A few more optional missions, and then it's off to the Quicksand Cave.

I equipped the Golden Mask on Bulbasaur in my trek through the desert, and it seems to make a nice difference. Not so much that everything that moves wants to join me, but it should be a lot easier. This morning I went on a Tauros genocide trying to recruit one at Far Amp Plains (keep in mind, the only way to get there is to not do any missions in the first part)... I wish I'd seen that code before then.

Ok, I've unlocked Marine Resort. And I went and recruited a Phione. I haven't explored Marine Resort yet. Am I suppose to? I still can't evolve. Help anyone?

Ok, I found out the official way to evolve. Beat the game. Get all the icons up to Darkrai, then do 3 optional missions till Manaphy comes back. Then do some more optional missions (3 IIRC) and then it'll unlock Marine Resort. Next go to Miracle Sea and recruit Phione. Finally go back to Spacial Rift and beat then recruit Palkia. Viola, you can evolve.

Sweet lord. Once my Chimchar turned into Infernape, it got back a shitload of moves. I'm itching to test them out. I wonder how much recoil Flare Blitz gives. And Torterra got Leaf Storm, i'm not sure if I deleted that if it could still remember it. Anywho, anyone have a code for Grass Knot TM?

Even if Flare Blitz doesn't give a whole lot of recoil, it's still a melee move that runs off a questionable damage formula (and if Stone Edge of all things only gets 7 PP, I don't expect Flare Blitz to be much better off). Between Flamethrower, Fury Swipes, Focus Blast and Mach Punch there shouldn't be a whole lot of room left for anything else anyway.

Wow. And an item stolen by a Magikarp? must of been one epic splash attack.

After clearing Crystal Cave and such, I officially hate escort missions. Yes, let's make you drag around a level 7 pokemon with 36 health to an area where all of the enemies hits OHKO or 2HKO. real brilliant.And honeslty, forget reviver seads for that, because all of them are going to be wasted from that one pokemon, because it has a magnet in its body that directs thunder wave and sleep spore to it and only it.

This is a pretty old complaint, MD1 had the same problem. Except it was even worse then: your escort was level 1. Seriously, the extra points granted by escort missions simply aren't worth it, since criminals get the same kind of boost and are much, MUCH easier.

As for Mach Punch on Infernape, no doubt it's nice, but be sure to check if it has the IQ skill that allows it to hit through teammates (I know my Bulbasaur does), as it makes Mach Punch a waste of a moveslot compared to Focus Blast.

So for kicks, I just checked what Solarbeam did, and it might not be so bad if you know how to use it well. What makes this move potentially interesting is that it does double damage (not double power, double DAMAGE) under any other weather than rain, hail or sandstorm (that includes Clear). And even if there is one of these weather conditions, its power is still 24 (among the highest in the game). Of course, it's out of the question for Grasses thanks to Bullet Seed, but there's an assload of other Pokés (mostly Fires) that get Solarbeam and not Bullet Seed. And in a game where both criticals and SE hits are only 1.5x, double damage is certainly worth a look.
