This is the Uber Speed List, here to make it easier for you to make EV spreads in the new Uber Shoddy Ladder. With the advent of the Scarf in the metagame, new boosting moves and the introduction of new ubers, the speed list will certainly need a revamp.

To use this list first search (ctrl+F) for the Pokemon you are training or EVing. Then decide which threats you wish to outspeed, going up the list. Finally calculate your spread.

eg. Hasty (+Speed, -Def) Mewtwo with 252 EVs can hit 394 speed. But the next highest is at 384 speed (+Speed Darkrai). So Hasty Mewtwo can safely run 385 speed (216 EVs) and never lose any extra matchups.

Boosting: you can find a target speed you’d like to hit after one x1.5 boost (Dragon Dance or Choice Scarf), and then multiply that target speed by 2/3. Rounding up the result will give your desired starting speed.

So if you wanted to hit 384 speed (outspeed +Speed max Darkrai) after one Dragon Dance or Choice Scarf boost, use this formula:

384 * 2 / 3

to get 256 speed

So without further ado...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Uber Speed List:

102: no speed neutral Wobbuffet

116: no speed neutral Shedinja and Forretress

146: no speed Blissey

158: Careful minimum Speed CB Tyranitar

179: Shedinja's maximum

200: This is the absolute minimum for Chlorophyll/Swift Swim Pokemon; it beats max speed Deoxys-A without a +speed nature.

216: Adamant Groudon and Modest Kyogre, with minimum speed investment. Deoxys-D also sits there.

222: standard Kyogre sets (Calm Minders and Resttalkers with 24 EVs), Choice (non Scarf) Dialga sets will often sit at 223 with 32 Spd EVs. Incidentally Adamant max speed Tyranitar hits 221 (uncommon).

225: Adamant (or neutral) Rayquaza has 225 speed as its minimum. Choiced and mix sets will often sit here.

231: +Speed max speed Chlorophyll Pokemon that need to beat out Salaced Groudon and Jolly Ninjask.

239: max speed of all neutral natured Metagross

250: +Speed/max speed Scizor

266: After a Choice Scarf boost, this reaches Deoxys-A's max speed

269: max speed neutral Heracross

273: Smeargle's max speed

276: max speed neutral Arceus

279: The neutral base 90s (Deoxys-D, Dialga, the weather starters, Giratina and Ho-oh).

289: max speed neutral Rayquaza

303: max speed Adamant Garchomp

307: +Speed max speed Kyogre and Groudon

319: max speed neutral natured Latios and Latias, Lugia and +Speed Rayquaza

328: max speed +Speed Mew, Manaphy and Palkia

340: Neutral max speed Arceus

350: max speed neutral Darkrai and max speed +Speed Latios/Latas

359: Modest Mewtwo's max speed. Choice Scarf max speed/+Speed Metagross hits 358

372: max speed +Speed Dugtrio as well as max speed +Speed nature Arceus.

383: +Speed max speed Weavile

384: +Speed max Darkrai

399: max speed neutral Deoxys-A

404: Choice Scarf Adamant Heracross. It's also the speed of neutral Metagross after one Agility and Swift Swim +Speed Ludicolo

409: +Speed max Smeargle after a Salac boost

418: is neutral Scarf Kyogre, Scarf Groudon and Scarf Dialga, but 419 is the absolute max speed of +Speed Choice Scarf Heatran

433: neutral/max Speed Rayquaza after one DD (or one Scarf boost)

438: +Speed max Deoxys-A (and also Deoxys)

455: Adamant Scarf Garchomp

459: +speed Scarf Kyogre (standard set)

461: This beats Jolly Ninjask, at least until Speed Boost kicks in. Rare.

476: +Speed standard Yanmega after one speed boost

491: The Choice Scarf base 100s with +Speed natures sit here (particularly Palkia)

499: all Jolly Scarf Garchomp

538: all Modest Scarfed Mewtwo

558: max speed neutral Groudon after one Rock Polish.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that’s pretty much the Uber Speed List. You can help by adding popular sets, more choice scarf sets, boosting numbers (to reach [insert important number here], X Pokemon be at [insert Speed Number here] and receive [insert boost number here]

This guide was written by me, MillionDaggers. Other people who've helped out are:

TPX and his OU speed guide

Cross Dragon and his OU/BL speed list

Smogon's TheMaster42 for this guide (the part which details how to use a speed list)

SNX7 of The Libelldra Forge

as well as my uber guide, here.

PS. I'll add the IV calculator link when it's finished

Enjoy!

If some of these numbers are uneeded, please make this known. I want to make this guide as comprehensive yet compact and easy to read as possible.

Right off the bat, there is a lot I don't like about this guide. First of all, as a competitave battler who plays daily, I want a quick reference thread, not "this is what X pokemon runs"

Abbreviations like "Vile", "Chomp" and "Lati@s" need to be removed.

Don't list what beats a certain speed, just list the speed. For example - 351: This beats neutral Darkrai and max speed +Speed Lat@s

Certain numbers are usless, and are taking up space. Example - 575: This will let you overcome +Speed max Speed Darkrai holding a Choice Scarf. A popular anti-lead, the Uber equivalent of Hypnosis ScarfGar. Outsped largely by:

591: +Speed Qwilfish in the rain (and incidentally +speed Scarf Mewtwo). Nothing in this metagame should really be faster than this.

Fair enough, I was thinking the same thing about the excess numbers, but I didn't know which ones to cut (in terms of people's needs)

I'll edit it I guess, but I don't know whether I should resubmit it or edit the article :/

Other than that, more advice/criticism would be welcome to make this guide as comprehnsive as possible. thanks

EDIT: Fix'd, mind re-reading it SNX?

There are still extra pieces of information that don't belong.
383: +Speed max speed Weavile (who usually carry CBs)
Many things can made less wordy.

Exmaple, changing this phrase: 319: max speed neutral natured Latios and Latias, all neutral Lugia and max speed Jolly Rayquaza before DD

To: 319: max speed neutral natured Latios and Latias, Lugia, +speed Rayquaza.

The reason I said +speed and not Jolly, is because Rayquaza also has a very nice base 150 SpA, and Specs Rayquaza is also a very threatening pokemon to face.
340: Neutral max speed Arceus as well as +Speed Palkia (and by association all other base 100s)
Max speed of base 100's is 328. Mew has base 100 speed.
219: Outspeeds all Magnezone (and other base 60s)
+speed base 60's max out at 240 speed, while only neutral natures hit 219. I don't know why Magnezone is listed either, since it is not a pokemon that is used in uber play.

As for usless numbers, if ubers have very low speed, they're most often going to invest into HP and/or defenses rather than waste EVs in speed when they're still going to get outsped. Most of the lower numbers can be removed. Wobbuffet, Blissey, Dialga, Metagross, Skarmory. Nothing that I have ever encountered in uber play has needed to out speed them specifically.

ok edited everything, stuff removed etc. and as a side note, Magnezone is pretty common to trap Dialga.

If noone finds anything else, I'm reposting this article.

EDIT: shit, the tags fucked up :(

Very slight nitpick, but if you're linking to CrossDragon's article in the credits, I'd link to the version in the Articles page.

Will do ruesap. Also:<p>
As for usless numbers, if ubers have very low speed, they're most often going to invest into HP and/or defenses rather than waste EVs in speed when they're still going to get outsped. While noone needs to outspeed them specifically, I still feel it's good to know what you can outspeed. it's more of a perfectionist idiosyncracy on my part. i also added a 'how you can use this guide, guide'</p>

Magnezone is not common at all.  Other than the fact that it can't do anything to Dialga, Magnezone's poor SpDef don't help it any either, even if it does resist Dragon.  Taking a look at the usage statistics on shoddy, Magnezone was used in exactly 210 uber matches.  Not really a common pokemon, compared to the thousands of usages many other pokemon saw.
