So, apparently in about two weeks, there's going to be the Day of Silence, a protest against anti-gay harassment. I'd heard about it last year, but didn't become interested until this year since I'm on the newspaper staff and we've decided to run a big story on it, so to that end I plan on participating. Anyone else plan to do the same?
On a related note, that Lawrence King story is real screwed up. I mean, seriously, some 14-year-old kid in his class just waltz up behind the guy on a random day and blows his brains out in the middle of the classroom. I mean, that's just disturbing, y'know? Despite my cynicism, I still find it hard to believe a kid could just murder someone in cold blood, simply because the victim was gay.
Also, I would really wish people would refrain from posting things like, "This thing's gay," or "Only fags support this," or other such immature crap. I realize that such a disclaimer shouldn't be necessary, but the internet has made realize it's better safe than sorry.
