I'm doing an english speech on identity, comparing 'Creep' by Radiohead to 'Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock' by T.S. Eliot. The song fits so perfectly, about isolation, desperation and obsession, that I couldn't resist. In this topic, you post Radiohead songs and/or give me other points to talk about in this assignment. :D

EDIT: The embed tags don't work, so just click here

I'll post the lyrics to the song, but the poem is too long so you can just google it up.

Creep - Radiohead
Album: Pablo Honey, 1993

When you were here before,
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel,
Your skin makes me cry

You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
I wish I was special
You're so fucking special

But I'm a creep,
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doin' here?
I don't belong here

I don't care if it hurts,
I wanna have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul

I want you to notice
when I'm not around
You're so fucking special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doin' here?
I don't belong here, ohhhh, ohhhh

She's running out the door
She's running out
She run run run run...
run...

Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You're so fucking special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep,
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doin' here?
I don't belong here

I don't belong here...

Well, when we read the Alfred Prufrock poem in class a bit ago, I wasn't there and I ended up failing the quiz about it, but I do notice the similarities between it and these lyrics, as in the theme of insecurity, etc. Go for it

I haven't been a fan for to long, but I just bought their latest album awhile ago, and I'm loving it. I'll update this post with some songs that are neat on that album.

Electioneering rawks.

I can't think of a poem that goes along with it at the moment because I'm working on 2 and a half hours of sleep.

Fair enough.

@ Jth it's funny you should mention that because Creep is Thom Yorke's least favourite song, their. Kid A, and OK Computer are the best ones, imo.

Here's a few questions for everyone, since people are often one of the two:

Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin?

The Clash or Sex Pistols?

And finally, ABBA or Beatles?

I'm probably Zep, a bit of Clash and Pistols (mostly Ramones), and Beatles...
