Whenever you're feeling down, from mildly sad to morbidly depressed for whatever reason, what are some good ways to cheer yourself up?

I usually just go to my room, shut down everything (computer, nintendo ds, whatever I was doing before), close the door, sit on my bed and talk to myself. For some reason, talking to myself about what's bothering me really helps a lot.

Also, please refrain from making joke posts in this board. This is meant for serious discussion. Use the Trashcan for jokes.

Fine, be like that. :(.
Anyways, on topic.
Cheering myself up used to be hard. Then I discovered eating. That was bad. I gained 15-20 pounds in a year, and weighed 120 at 5'1.
Now, I've discovered actually talking to people. There are a few kids in my class that I can talk to normally, and then I've go you guys here. Venting for me works to.

I usually just go and listen to music or go outside if it's nice and just play around with my lacrosse stick.

And this might seem kind of cheesy, but I always trust in God when I feel bad over something, that my depression and/or suffering is only a thing now, and that later in life totally makes up for it.

If I'm sad I'll just break out some old SNL tapes, shut the blinds, sit in my bed and watch them... and try not to think too much :P

If I'm mad for whatever reason, I usually do push-ups till I'm too tired to be angry <_<

I do a pretty similar thing to Fant, go in room, shut down DS, computer and everything, and sit on bed. But then I listen to music from my phone, and as wierd as this may sound, I always listen to Titanic, because the nostalgia always makes me cry. Nostalgia and because the lyrics really do hit a nerve, mainly because (and I know half of the world hates it when people talk about their love lifes on the internet) I've been going out with the girl I love for nearly a month now, after 5 complete screw-up relationships, which is weird seeing as I'm only 13 (and had 1 of those screw-ups when I was 12).
Naturally, because I'm in such a hype of finally going out with this girl, I don't get depressed or sad often. Sometimes I just like to go in my room and have a masculine cry :D

^ Pretty much, me, too. Talking to myself about my feelings helps me organize them and find a solution to my problems, as cheesy as that sounds. I used to talk to my dog, before he died last December. I have been depressed ever since then, really. He was really one of my best friends. I've rarely had many real friends, but Bo was always there for me. (As I'm typing this, I feel tears coming to my eyes. I'm not ashamed to admit it.) Ah well, I've come to terms with it now. I'm feeling better about life.

This didn't exactly cheer myself up, but a while ago, if I got depressed, I would sit in the basement, alone, and watch Eva for a long while. Something about connecting to the characters........it didn't really help.

Anyway, to cheer myself up, nowadays, I'll sit in the bathroom, and think.
I'll have the occasional chat with myself, but that's really it.

If that doesn't work, then I'll simply play a video game until I completely forget about being depressed; usually it's either Galaxy or Shiren.

Oh, and I almost forgot: talk to Oreo, my sister's hamster.

I go for a walk and mutter to myself about whatever troubles me. It works pretty well. Recently, a certain woman has caused me to do this often.

I take a clean page and start doodling. I try to draw the thing that makes me sad in a funny or less depressing way.

If I'm utterly pissed off, I lock myself in my room and start reading.

If there's one thing that doesn't help me get over it, it's watching comedy television. For some reason it only makes me feel worse...

^Most comedians like to target the dark side of life and make it seem funny, but I've noticed it does seem to have a negative effect on depressed people.

I either take a walk or play video games until my mind is nothing but mush. (Y hallo thar GoW & GoW2).

Other than that, I've come to terms to the fact that I'll virtually have depression episodes now and then.
