Hard to say.

People who have set their DS time ahead to 1/12 apparently haven't found anything AFAIK so that's a sign it could be a WiFi related event. But not everybody has WiFi access and the blog entry doesn't mention WiFi at all.

1/12 happens to be the programmer's 40th birthday so it's possible that he just wants more people to play his game for his birthday present lol. Saying that we'll find something different is alluring though...

However, logic dictates that GameFreak/Nintendo would promote the **** out of a Darkrai event despite rumors that this might be it. A simple blog entry that most people won't know about isn't the best way to go about it. The surprise could be similar to that Psyduck giveaway from before, I suppose.

It's Nintendo. Marketing has never been their forte, at least in recent history.

I'm not asking for a massive ad campaign here but an obscure blog entry doesn't quite match up with what they've done in the past with event Pokemon.
