Yeah, so there was this contest, and the prompt was simply "hibernation", and this is the first thing that sprang to mind. It's hastily written, and I'm not good with poetry to begin with, but...I thought that I should start somewhere, no?

“A little rest, a little rest”
You keep saying.
“A little more time, a little more time,”
You’ve taken too much already.
“I can’t yet, I can’t yet”
If not now, when?
“It will come, it will come”
Why don’t you go and get it?

A reprieve, a rest,
A small one, you said,
So you could order your head.
So you could make something again.
So you could pursue your dream anew;
Without hassle, without distraction, without disappointment.

But you just sleep and sleep and sleep;
Will you still make anything of your dreams?
You’ve slept long enough.

Wake up!
There’s work to be done.
Wake up!
You’ve rested enough.
Wake up!
No more excuses.
Wake up!
Quit doubting yourself.

Your dreams amount to nothing if you sleep forever.
So wake up!

Gah, that was bad. I think I'll just go on Shoddy now...
