Forums · Some way to revive the battling forum.
When I just started out here, there was a lot of outcry for a battling forum. It took awhile, but finally one was added. Ironically, this much-demanded feature is completely dead. One look at said forum is all one needs; few battle requests are posted, and the few that are posted usually get no replies or replies a long time after the topic is made. Unlike GameFAQs, the battling board seems to be dead for three reasons, I think:
1. Too much time between requests and replies:
If I make a topic asking for a battle, it might not get a single response for days, if at all. It seems pretty pretty ridiculous for me to constantly check a dead forum for days for one battle when I could go to Smogon or GameFAQs and get a battle within a few minutes.
2. Much emphasis is placed on Shoddy.
Quite honestly, this site doesn't seem to be geared towards Wi-Fi battling at all; why worry about Wi-Fi when I can schedule a battle on Shoddy quickly with jIRC or something?
3. Most of our users are inactive.
If someone is coming to the battle boards, it's the same guys over and over again. If they didn't feel like taking my request the first time, then why the next or the one after that?
Because of this, the battling board is really a waste of space. Therefore, I suggest we close it, at least for the time being, until we gain more active members. In its place, I suggest perhaps we could have an IRC channel dedicated solely to Wi-Fi battles; one could get them much quicker than just sitting around looking at a dead forum.
If an IRC channel isn't feasible, I suggest that we remove the battling section and make a battling topic in Wi-Fi like Smogon's "Battle Me". It will take up less space, and I suppose individual requests will be responded to faster.
Perhaps my solutions are stupid, but still, we need to find a way to fix the battling forums, don't you agree?

Definitely. Trading and Battling should simply be 1 Forum. If an option was to be added at the beginning of the topic:
