We'll, I'm basically trying to figure out what I should be playing. The most I've ever came close to a MMORPG is Runescape and I would like your opinions on other MMORPG's so that I could look into them, I'm sure this would help out some other people too.

*If this is out of topic or w/e, feel free to move this into the Trashcan mods*

I played a good amount of FF Online back a few years ago.

Pretty fun, lots of options. For some reason a lot of work on your part has to go into it. Expects much of you later in the game when people need you to learn your role in the party.

Leveling up is a lil slow, and you'll be in a party of 6 all the time you get online once you get past level 10.

I had a lot of fun with it though and would recommend it.

I played Ragnarok Online for four years on a private server known as VanRO. My name comes from one of my best friends there. My guildmates moved on after the most recent wipe to 2moons. I have a lvl 36 Azure Knight and I quit that game once I started college because I no longer have time.

From what I hear Guild (something) is very fun alternative to the expected responses of "WoW'.

No online fees besides paying for the game itself. Lots of options.

Never played it myself, but here good things about it.

A very beautiful free MMORPG is Gaia Online where it was designed for the graphics to be on par with actual retail games online, I played that a bit too, and I have to say, I was impressed.

Look up those two if you have the time.

Actually, this topic has inspired me to pull out my assassin on Broa, if just one more time. I'll probably run into loads of idiots, get defamed out the ass, encounter hackers, scammers, and other unsavory characters, but still...

Runescape is only fun if you are a member, and although it's cheaper than WoW, WoW is probably better.

Then there's Guild Wars, which a friend of mine plays, but I have no idea what it's about or anything. It looks nice graphically though from what I've seen.

Neopets is kinda fun if only for the nostalgic factor (assuming you played it when you were little like everyone else). The games on Neopets are really fun and addicting too.

Kingdom of Loathing is a text-based game that kinda goes unnoticed. It's got horrible graphics (read: stick people). It makes up for the graphics with awesome humour and incredibly addicting gameplay though :s Currently only me/Spanky/Resum play it, I suggest others do too

You're thinking of Guild Wars.

And also, I've played Maplestory for a while, I don't recommend it >_<
