Y'see, I took the test so that I could make it into honors classes once I hit high school. I feel good about this test, I'm confident I'll get there.

But honors math isn't something I'm hoping for, to be honest. I like words and pictures more than numbers. The only numbers I approve of are 4 and 69.

Well, I aced Algebra 1 in middle school and when I got to high school, I was able to take Geometry as a freshmen. Sadly, I finished high school with the bare completion of Calculus 1.

At my high school, we have a stupid system in place where you can theoretically take calculus as a sophomore (I actually know someone who did this, crazily enough) but you have to complete English 11 in order to take any AP English class. This is great for people who like math, but I'm not one of them.

And honors classes, at least at my school, aren't hard at all. In English last year, we had kids asking how to spell words like "house" and struggling over stuff like "thine" in the Shakespeare unit. Hence me wanting to escape into AP. Oh well.

I should mention that this is a public high school in a zero-intellect town where 40% of the student body take honors classes. If your school is more selective - and it probably is, if you need to take a test - then hopefully this won't happen to you.

Anyway, good luck. biggrin.gif

I'm confident that I'll at least be in honors Language Arts. Honors math is a bit iffy, but the rest are pretty much in the bag.

I R SMART

The only AP class offered for my school during sophomore year was Chemistry and I got a 2 on the AP exam. AP World History wasn't offered and Spanish AP a.k.a Spanish 4 is only offered during senior year.

Unless you plan on being done with math after ap calc, or are going to take college level math WHILE you are in highschool there really is no reason to take ap calc until your junior or senior year.

The only class you may need ap calc for in highschool is ap physics, and if you take them at the same time you will most likely learn what you need as you need it.

If you take it too soon you are likely to forget things you will need to know when you go to take any math course of any course where you will need calc again in college.

Y'know, I don't even want regular math class, let alone anything advanced. I'd rather it be replaced with an extra hour added to lunch.
