It was dawn. The third nuclear bomb of the war, the Third World War in history,
had just hit in Albany. I was sheltered in an old apartment, 50 kilometers North-East from
the capital of New York state. I had been into the city two days before, to report on my
spying mission to the governor. I had no idea why this war had started, but I?m sure as
heck going to make sure that I have a part in ending it. The phone rung.

?Hello?? I answered.

?If a canary can fly, then?? as the mysterious voiced recited the first half of the password.

?a fish can swim so swiftly.? Finishing the password, I had a question for this man

?What do you want with the government??

?It depends on if you?re willing to risk your life.? The words as sharp as the butcher?s blade, I now understand what had just happened. The spy had been spied on.

I knew what was about to happen, and just to confirm my thought, I saw the glaring red dot of the sniper?s scope spot, between my feet. The warning was received.

?Damn little devil!? I yelled into the window. I had a feeling he heard me, especially since I knew he had been spying on me for the past week, for it was the last time that I used that password. A patient little devil he was, although it didn?t matter for long. He had fallen into my little trap.

For, even when he called me, I knew it had been planned for me. A spy should never let down his guard, for when he does, it gets dangerous. Quickly. The foolish little devil never knew I had my phone show my computer what number it was coming from, and my computer would cross reference it with the database. He was 7 floors above me, in the closest building towards me. I played a little game with this man. I came I like to call cat and mouse. I was the cat.

Like the hidden tiger, stalking my prey, I left the building threw the old passages under the buildings. It was dead silent, in a more eerie kind of way. The bones that carved the passage walls ever so silent, but what more is expected, they?re already dead from this life.

As I arose from the Chamber of Death, into the building in which the game was about to be played in. And so the cat had started the hunt. Running slowly towards the location, I knew he was getting prepared, and was probably wanting for me at the door. I did the next thing that came to my mind. I jumped.

Being the idiot self I am, I had a little plan for this man. For I knew I had one shot at him, and for some reason, I had a hunch that it involved explosives. So it did. Right before I walked up to the stairs, I had realized it would be futile. I then decided to go into the room under his, set my explosive, and jump, with the explosive destroying the building, and the killer in it. Boy was I wrong.

The jump I had planned was not fatal; all I had to do was jump 1 meter between the buildings. A simple task for someone trained in the marines. What happened next wasn?t quite as easy.

For the room in which I had entered wasn?t open, and the balcony was made weak rock. It was only seven seconds or so after I landed that it collapsed under my weight. I hadn?t expected this, but I prepared myself for it anyways. I knew that I had little time to react, but I had a small idea, that might save me some hospital bills.

I took my knife out of my left pocket, and cut into the weak plaster that joined the bricks together, I understood that it would break, but it gave me what I needed. Time. The time I needed to make sure that the crumbling rocks would slide through the gaps in the slanted balcony's rail, and without the weight of my body and the rocks on the balcony, it wouldn't collapse. I landed on the balcony. I was safe. For now.

It didn't last long.
