Kitsunami was madly sprinting as he cut away through the grassy plains illuminated by the lustrous, luminous moon. Sweating, he continued to tear away through the dewy field under a moonlit sky. Kitsunami was feverish. He was doing anything he could to escape his pursuers. They were crazed. Relentless. And worst of all, after his earthly life.
Kitsunami continued his mad dash, but it seemed futile. He continued to gradually grow more and more desperate, upsurping every bit of resevoir of willpower to keep pacing on. He felt the cool, stinging whips of the stalker against his face and limbs. Fast. That was the only way this thing (for he knew it to be inhuman) could be described. The barrage of breaching results was considerably lessened however, thanks entirely to the little bundle of flesh he was cradling in his arms. It enshrouded him in a brilliant barrier of silver opaque plates, absorbing continuous assaults. Kitsunami pressed his head further against its white flesh. The hatchling gave a pleading growl. In Kitsunami's arms was a baby Lugia.
Kitsunami's speed, however, remained un-augemented. As he slowed, it was as if a pendulum slowly swayed, stopping when he reached his inevitable doom. The pursuer showed no sign of slowing down, and his rampage continued to grow more and more furious. Kitsunami knew that the baby Lugia's Reflect wouldn't last much longer. But the situation became much worse when the creature began to use ranged attacks, the most damaging being one of electricity.
"Thunderbolt," Kitsunami thought. "Even if this is a Lugia, he's only a baby, and electricity is still his antithesis... what should I do?"
The baby Lugia began to whimper and wail a little more, and while still slightly inaudible, Kitsunami could not ignore his growing cries.
"Lugia, use Light Screen," murmured Kitsunami.
It did as commanded and on top of the silver barrier appeared a similar one made of golden shimmering light. The Thunderbolt attacks were weakened considerably, although his stamina was fading fast. Sparks started to emit from the baby Lugia, a sign, as Kitsunami knew from experiences with other Pokemon, that it was using Recover. Although this was buying him time, he felt useless as his strength began to fail him. Kitsunami's pendulum began to stop.
"Deoxys, use Psycho Boost!" came a voice from far behind him. The man sounded middle-aged, and his voice was gruff and succinct. It began to fade away as Kitsunami put more distance between them.
This was irrelevant however, because an array of electrifying and terrifying sharp purples started to emit from behind him. The lights continued to build up until the whole forest behind him was illuminated, shining gloriously as if the sun itself was perched behind them. The glowing mass was soon launched in Kitsunami's direction at a frightening speed and with great acceleration. The gold and silver barriers began to fade away, slipping and shrinking into nothingness.
"Dammit, not now!" cursed Kitsunami.
The mass collided head on with Kitsunami's back. Bracing himself for overwhelming pain, Kitsunami closed his eyes and winced slightly, gripping the warm baby more firmly then he ever did before. Kitsunami had to protect it. After the Team Rocket - Cipher joint project, it was probably one of the last of its kind.
