It worked well for about an hour (I was testing how long it would last), and I backed up my drivers, which were first priority.

It shut down on me again, and now I'm waiting a few hours to try again and get all of the data I want off of it.

New update. I really want this to be known, so I will apologize in advance if bumps are looked down upon.

Okay, all of the vital files on my hard drive were successfully extracted, all pictures were saved, and the essential files to my in-progress RPG Maker game were saved. It crashed while trying to access a certain file on the database, but everything after that section was not important (I believe the only folder left is the "Audio" folder, which was empty except for one audio file that is easily replaced, as I have a backup on my PSP).

So, I'm really not destroyed after all. I need to get the hard drive my grandfather has (which would, at the most, take about 2-3 days to reach my area via mail), reinstall all of my drivers, and resume restoring all of the files that are replaceable (which weren't hard to replace, anyway).

I am finally at ease.

Just be grateful that your laptop wasn't swept by a Lapras in your presence. You would now be in the same condition as the hard drive...>_>

I'm currently posting from my laptop.

It's strange; it seems to work for a while, then it will just crash.

I got everything I could possibly think of off the drive. Now I can't possibly lose anything.
