The staff of TLF greatly appreciates user input. After all, our main goal is to give the users here a good time and allow them to learn a lot when it comes to pokemon (and social matters, in some cases). That's the reason we created this board: so we can get input from your side.
However, don't consider this board to be a place where you can randomly throw some ideas at the site's staff. If you are going to suggest an idea, make sure you support it well. By this, I mean that you should include at least the following in your first post:
What's the problem with the current state of the site? Why is this a problem? What are you suggesting? Why would this suggestion solve the aforementioned problem?
Answering these questions in your posts assures us that you have thought about your suggestion very carefully. If we feel that a topic contains too less support or elaboration in the first post, we will lock or delete the topic without any warning beforehand. This board is, like said earlier, not a place where you can post anything you'd like to see.
When a topic has been made (with the right set-up), the site's staff will discuss the suggestion with each other and come to a final decision, which will be made public by one of the staff members in the topic in question.
After this has been done, the topic will either be lock/deleted immediately (in case the idea was accepted), or it will be left open for a while longer so users can post their own ideas regarding the post of the staff member. If you'd still like to comment on the staff member's post after the topic has been locked or deleted, send a PM to that staff member, or discuss the matter with him via a private window in the IRC chat. Do not make a new topic and do not hold the discussion in public.
If you include a poll in your topic, please make it so that there are only serious answers. I have seen topics that had polls with options such as "No, you fail and I love men." Topics with such poll options will be locked or deleted instantly, since the content of this board should be serious at all times.
About that, do not post in a topic if you have nothing meaningful to contribute. The topics here are to present a new idea and open it up for discussion. If your post does not add anything meaningful to the discussion, it will be deleted without a warning. Further sanctions may be taken, depending on the situation at that time.
Two more notes before I finish this post:
Do not expect to get credit for any ideas you suggest here. If we choose to implement your idea, your name will not be mentioned. The idea will be implemented and that is it. Of course, we do appreciate your input a lot, but crediting people for their ideas is stretching things a bit far.Questions about the site that are not meant to result into a discussion about a certain aspect of the site, for example "How many posts do I need to get my own custom member title?" are not supposed to be asked in this forum. Such questions should be PM'd to a staff member directly, and that member will try his best to answer your question.
If you follow these guidelines, everything should be fine.
