I agree with Ryo. It happens with celebrities (music, sports, film, business) all the time. The media puts them on a pedestal so that they can then tear them down later. Also, if a person gets too successful, rich or admired, the public gets really jealous and starts hating on them.

When it comes to music, popular music usually sucks. When it comes to OUs, its understandable to an extent because there were times where I fought literally the SAME team over and over again. Did I get raped by it? Hell no. At the beginning of JPN release everybody was using Metagross SkarmBliss Forretress/Claydol Ludicolo and Tyranitar/Garchomp. Then it shifted to Salamence SkarmBliss Cresselia Gengar and Starmie. I dont hate OU's really, its just the dumbasses that copy their teams off of better battlers (and fail at using it). I dont care whats popular, I care whats ME.

Well, not all popular stuff is hated. Take chocolate, for example. It used to be really hard to come by a few centuries ago. Now it's everywhere, but do you see anyone complaining?
