Before I start this, please be warned. The ideas are taken from the book, "The Giver"


It was the day of the ceremony of Ten. I had awakened to find my father unit, preparing the usual breakfast ritual. The apples were sliced, perfectly in the circle. It was then that I realized that I had become distraught, not forwarding my body towards the table, where sat my father, mother, and sister unit. We started the ritual of dreams.

"So, what pleasant dreams have you come to tell us about?" asked my mother unit.
"I dare not to say it, but I had become distraught, and have now forgotten my dreams. I cannot comply to the ritual, mother." I responded.

I then proceeded to leave my inhabitance. I stumbled towards the Hall of Ceremony's, to receive the gift of honor. For 3 out of every 30 newly named Tens were sent on an adventure. I was one of them.

I had just arrived at the Point of Progress. This was were the Tens were given a new name, and were a gift was given to them. No one knew what the most sacred of these gifts were, but that they would change your life forever...

The elder had called me forward.

"Nikko. You have been granted a gift from the gods. Intelligence was bestowed upon you, and your heart of eternal purity will use it wisely. We give you this gift, and a new name. Your name had been decided long ago, and from now on, you shall be..."

"Alexander.." the elder spoke softly...
"We hope you will use this wisely, as your journey is about to begin. The journey shall be long, painful, and torturous at points, but you are about to experience the true joy in life.."
"Together, we hand you..."




"Phanpy"

"We now request that you leave this town, and use this animal, or, Pokemon wisely. Take supplies, and journey the vast land that lays beyond these great walls.."
"Goodbye Alexander..."

And so your journey begins...

I walked away from the community I had called home. I stopped under a shaded tree, and open a special package I had received. Inside it contained an instruction booklet..


1. Collect symbols from other towns, for they alone will reveal memories to you.
2. Do not leave your assigned group.
3. Phanpy can protect you. Call out attacks if needed. It knows Ice Shard, and Tackle.
4. If you and your partners get into any trouble, you are allowed to go into another community, all you must do is show them this booklet.

After reading the final word, I had heard a noise..

I had just witnessed my first murder

A group of theives had just stolen Madison's Pokemon. In the process, a hyper beam intended for her defensless Pikachu had hit her. She didn't stand a chance.

It was then that I became even more frightined. I saw this group, all wearing a bandana with W, turn Pikachu's eyes a glowing red. The pure evil pulsing straight through it's vein overwelmed me, and I fleed, both fearing for the safety of my body, and my Pokemon.

I had barely escaped. An Ice Beam flew right by my head, and hit a near tree, that in turn, almost collapsed on me. I took out my map. It projected a holographic screen, that had shown me wear to go.

I headed for Placidia

Heh, interesting concept, The Giver + Pokemon.

Small update

I want to beat you because I hated The Giver. But then you wrote well. So uh....I'm confused.

This is really interesting; The Giver was a great book, I can't wait to see how The Giver + Pok?mon turns out.
